Well I finally bit the bullet!!! Placed my order for a new 5105 M with the following: MFWD, Deluxe Cab with air seat, 32/16 Power reverser plus transmission-540/540E, vertical exhaust, electrohydraulic 3pt with remote LH fender control, triple rear deluxe scv valves, dual mid valve with joystick control, 3pt hitch with telescoping draft links, 18.4R30,12.4R24, cold weather package, brush guard, hood guard, am/fm stereo with clock and weatherband, stationary fenders, 2 95lb rear wgts, 563 NSL loader with global carrier and 85 inch heavy duty bucket.

I was able to negotiate 0% for 60 months. I will sign the contract later this week. Delivery date is tentative August.

Thanks to all of you that have given me advice and tips. You have made it a lot easier for me to make my final decision as to what I needed.

Those 5Ms are very nice tractors. Yours must be close to a maxed-out configuration.

Hope the wait passes quickly.

Well done! Excellent choice! Make sure you get the reverser modulation control to adjust the aggresiveness of directional shifting. It might come with the deluxe cab option on the 5105M but check to be sure. If not it is well worth the approx. $100, and it has to be programmed so more than likely you won't be able to do this at home.

Regards,

Tom

That rocks - the M series are some nice machines.

What made you pick a M over an E?

What made you pick a M over an E?

There are several features on the "M" that the "E Limited" doesn't have. I think the additional weight, 32/16 transmission and the additional horse power will work better for my haying operation. Another huge feature was the left hand fender 3pt hitch control. I work by myself all the time and it will make it soooo much easier to hook up 3pt equipment. My wife commented that she would be willing to pay the extra $10,000+ just to keep from having to help me hook up equipment all the time, lol.

Another thing is the "M" has better placed SVC and throttle control. I found that the "E" controls were too far back and too low.

The other thing I considered was that if you stretched the additional cost over the life of the tractor and the increased value down the road it made the extra cost more palatable.
