Thanks! It sure beats having a $500 a month equipment payment and we work on everything ourselves.

I can get one in Yanmar red. It does do a great job for tilling gardens, i used mine last year and it did a great job loosening up the ground. We did have to run the tiller over it afterwards because of the thick clay soil we have but I have had very different experiences in different soil types. Sandy loam soils can be tilled with just a Jake rake but then again hard rocky ground takes a Jake Rake and a tiller. It really depends on soil type. It is actually great for preparing for planting because you can lift up the rake and use the front shanks to make furrows to plant seeds in.

It will basically work like a field cultivator. In soils like i have it will make a rough seedbed good for foodplots but for your garden, at least in clay you will want a finer seed bed.

Yeah, that sums it up good. :) It really depends on soil type.

I have a mix of soil types -- some nasty clay, some loose soil -- but I try to keep my garden where the soil is loose. Tried to send a request to your website to ask about price & shipping to Ohio; didn't get a reply yet... :)

I qualify as a very irregular. I was surprised that I remembered my user ID and password today when I logged for the first time in a year or two! This is an absolutely great site. I love reading the posts. You guys know your tractors! I would like to stop by more often, but unfortunately, I am just way too dang busy.

Because I love numbers... I waded through all of the responses (up to this one) on this thread and totaled them up. I counted the total responses and also the # of people who responded that own Yanmar tractors (I looked at their public profiles if it wasn't obvious from the post.) I was careful to not double count anyone.

Drumroll Please! :cool2:

Total responders: 84

Total responders who are Yanmar tractor owners: 53

Quite a group of folks who are at least checking pretty regularly.
