HST whine on larger tractors...

The only time there is significant whine in low range is when the parking brake is set hard. Then he whines good and loud.:laughing: That is how you know the brake is still set.:thumbsup:

My grand l 3540 whines far less than either of my B models. No whine at all in low, a little in med when shes under serious load, plenty in high range, but thats no problem as im rarely in high range!

Is it just Kubotas that have that whine? Or do all HSTs have that noise. Or is it the final drive bull gears and not HST at all?

This M59 is my first Kubota so I just don't know them that well. Previously, my tractors have been traditional old gear types which don't make any tranny noise. The Case and Cat TLB I've worked with don't make that whine, and they are HST.

Every HST I've ever been around whines under load. Even ones not in tractors.

My L3700 is loud, I always wear ear protection. The only thing I have to compare to is a Ford 8N which made no real transmission noise. And Yes with the brake on, very loud, and I still sometimes travel several yards before I figure that out.
