Was wondering if anyone has added a toothbar to their FEL. I did some research and look like I could get one for around $150.

Is it a useful attachment? Easier to dig? Anything you can comment on would be helpful. Thank you.

I bought a used one for $100. Heavy duty. I didn't like it at first... it would leave "tooth marks" in the ground when I wanted a smooth cut. I didn't have really hard ground so it really wasn't need for digging. When I put my grapple on... THAT's when I fell in love with the tooth bar. I can put it on and take it off in a few minutes.

Where can you buy one for $150???

I just put a toothbar on my new Mahindra 3016 today. I bought one on ebay and received it in 4 days. I paid about $350 for mine though.

I haven't had time to really try it out, but I did play a little until the rains came. I was surprised at how easy it cuts into the soil. I am no expert, as this is my first tractor and I only have about 10 hours on it, but the toothbar seems to make a real difference.

It will help on moving dirt as the teeth digs in. And depending on the size of your bucket... prices are on the $350 the last time I looked for one. I ended up buying individual tooth and should have done it a long time ago. Prices is under $100 for 8 pieces and grade 8 bolts. I installed it on my 68" bucket. I do a lot of dirt moving and it helps a lot. I am clearing my backyard and all I am using right now is the fel with teeth and box blade. See the pic of the teeth I installed....

I found this manufacturer, it asks for you zip code so prices may vary. The 47" was $166 for me, I assume that's the size ill need since I have a 49" bucket (I think).

Looks like you pre-drill holes in the side of your bucket and it will bolt inside. Might have to shim it little to get it to fit... a light duty model but its all ill need.
The mini:
Berlon: Mini Tooth Bar

Other tooth bars they have... maybe better? More $ though.

Berlon: Bolt on Tooth Bar Over Bolt on Cutting Edge
Berlon: Bolt on Tooth Bar

I installed a toothbar and it really makes a difference in how well you can dig in. I purchased mine from Iowa Farm Implement on E bay and it has been very durable.

That's the one I was close to buying before finding a used one. It doesn't have 1" shanks like the rest of them but that saves in weight. You want to get the 49" version (which will be 1/4 +/- inches shorter). If you get it, please let us know how it turns out. Anyone else with one of these???

Check Ratchet Rake, LLC - Tractor attachment, Bucket attachment, Loader, Skid loader, Kubota, Skid steer, Landscape rake, Brush remover, York Rake, Harley Rake, Rock Rake, Tractor rake attachment, Construction attachment, New Holland, Bobcat, Fire safety, they are made in Carlisle, PA, cost about $300., sold at Tractor Supply stores. I bought one and couldn't be happier with it. Off and on in about one minute, heavy cable and heavy ratchet strap holds it securely in place. I use mine to remove brush and undergrowth, grade driveway and prep ground for sowing. Check the video on their website. Well worth the money.

I have one, and it's currently off the bucket as I don't need to dig holes or get into compacted piles of stuff.

On the plus side, they make digging easier. On the minus side you need to remove it to use the FEL bucket for fine grading, or getting down to grade to get the last bit of rocks or whatever.

I believe it was 3RRL that came up with the idea to drill the bar hole (in the side of the bucket) to fit at the teeth end of the slot or elongated hole, then if you do not need the toothbar simply loosen the bolts, pull foward, and flip the bar inside the bucket. This is the way I mounted mine, never flipped it other than upon installation to make sure it would work. If you have single hole mount this info is useless, if you have the long slot you have a choice.
