Cleaning 3130

Have just washed and waxed my 3130, checked everything and lubed everything. It's 6 years old now and been a great tractor with no problems.
The dark gray plastic dash and plastic used in other places seems to be fading especially in places which have lots of sun. The tractor has always been barn kept except when in being used. What can I put on the dash and other part to rejuvenate the plastic? I tried some WD-40 on a rag but it didn't work, any other ideas?

There are many boat care products available that will do the job for you. 3M and Meguiers are a couple of the top brands in boat care. You can get them at West Marine stores, NAPA and many large auto parts stores.

I have a B3030 that I bought new in 2005. It does not have the same gray plastic as your tractor does, just a black plastic that so far holds it's color well. I wipe the plastic and vinyl down with Meguiers vinyl and rubber conditioner. I have used it for many years on my boat and it does a great job keeping everything looking like new. Good luck.

try regular Pledge furniture polish-only one which contains carnuba wax-[impt]- i use this on the dash and interior of my 64 corvette and no cracks or probs and i live in tx.

I used the Meguires plastic stuff on some grey (supposed to be black) plastic on a sportsmans's club UTV that sat out in the south before we bought it..Worked great. Don't know how it works long term though. Only detailed it a couple of weeks ago...will let you know.

Whatever you buy would benefit, I believe, from a "UV Blocker."

I agree on Meguiars--I've only used their automotive stuff, (my boat's a little past the "waxing" stage) but I would call them and ask which products have UV blockers.

I've received much good, PATIENT advice from the techs at Meguiars.

I occasionally wipe the dash with WD-40 (like you did)...Not sure of anything else for you to use...

Great post! I have a five year old 3430 with the same issues, except I have to store mine outside. I cover it in the winter, and now that I have seen your post I will get some stuff with a UV blocker, and I'm thinking about putting some kind of carpet or something over the gray plastic part. I always flip the seat up when I park it, but I have a tine tear starting on the seat bottom. I put some gorilla tape on it to help keep the sun off it.
