My used 3320 / 300CX included a JD bucket. I found a label on the bucket which reads BW 14764 1550 HD BKT W/holes. Now there are holes along the bottom leading edge of the bucket. Are these for a specific model teeth or is a better way to go to just purchase a generic tooth bar which will require drilling holes into the sides of the bucket. If the holes are not for teeth, then what are they for ?

Thank you .

They are for a replaceable cutting edge. That will add a lot of life to the edge on your bucket and extend it's longevity.

Are there holes also along the back bottom edge of the bucket? If so, then these holes (both front and rear) are probably used to bolt an attachment to the bucket such as rods which can be used as debris/manure scrappers/extensions.

If you are planning on doing allot of pavement scraping with the bucket lip.....then a replaceable edge may make sense. However, If a tooth bar is in your future.....I would not waste money on a replacment edge. The tooth bar teeth will take most of the wear.

It would take allot of operating for a home-owner to wear down the bucket edge IMO.

I would want the bolt on cutting edge for the strength it will add to the bottom edge of the bucket, less chance of bending the cutting edge.
