Is a 60 box blade too big for a 26 hp tractor?

For my use the important thing is that the BB is wider than my tractor track. Let's me work along an obstacle without running my rear tire against it. You can always lift the BB or raise a tooth or two if you can't pull it. But you can't add width.

My tractor is about 48" wide.

I pulled the trigger today, picking up a 60" box blade. I went the economy route, choosing the Countywide at TSC. It's definitely lighter built than the Landpride BB I had been borrowing, and the scarifiers don't extend as deep, but I dragged it around today and managed to flip some good rocks in my daughter's driveway. Seems like it'll do the job.

Decent. I have a few CountyLine attachments that have performed flawlessly.

Take it slow and easy and you will get years of good use.:thumbsup:

Keep us posted...... I have a B2620 too, and currently use a Woods 48" BB. In my rocks, and when the clay is wet it pulls it along with all four just churning in slow motion, but not really much faster than I am moving.

That extra foot in width would be handy lots of times, but I was afraid it would be too much. Now my neighbor has a Massey 1528 which is only two hp more, but 1000 lbs. heavier, and I wouldn't even give it a second thought with that tractor. Weight is our friend when pulling, or pushing.

in general, it's probably ok. An N is about that hp and uses a 5' box.

I have the 48" land pride box blade. Don't know how well it would pull a larger one, but the 48 covers the tracks, and should be able to get up next to something. use it all the time. The dealer says that is the "factory" BB for that tractor. I bought it from the dealer shortly after I bought the tractor. Basically asked him for the recommended BB, because I was needing to flatten out some dirt.
One thing I noticed is that weight is very important for getting them to dig. If I were to get a larger blade, and the weight didn't significantly increase ,it may not work right. If the BB were that heavy, it may be too heavy without counter weights on the front.
