Zick hate to tell you this but it's not gonna snow were you are for two years. My brother bought a plow one summer and went around showing it to everyone all summer, and we didn't see more than an inch of snow for two years. Then he sold it. He moved back to Texas that winter. Couldn't handle the snow any more.

I had a 50" Buhler (same thing, different paint color) on my bx1850. I ran the adjustable hitch all the way out on mine. Try moving it out and check the shaft again.

Ok, I'm was double checking everything and ran into a problem.
I took out the shear bolt on the sprocket gear shaft and found that the shear sprocket does not turn freely when the bolt is out which means it wouldn't be protecting the snowblower very well. According to the manual the shear sprocket should spin freely with the bolt removed and to lube it occasionally.
Figuring it's probably just rusted together I start trying to pull it apart and found that I am unable to do so. I have sprayed it, beat it and drove a wedge into it slighly all the way around and it still will not spin or move.
Without doing more possible damage than good, does anyone have a suggestion on how I can get this apart? :anyone:

Find some snow and blow it... if you can't find snow, just run it and see if that breaks it loose.

Good luck with your new purchase...may the snow gods provide ample opportunity to use it...and soon!

Better heed Roy Jackson's advice on the length of the pto shaft...if sized to long you risk damaging tractor bearings ($$$) and/or those in the snow blower ($). If the shaft is too short, meaning too little overlap, you risk damaging much more, including the operator.
Just my $0.02.
