Feral cats

now I am confused, the guy burying his dozer to keep the bank from getting it. Digging a hole to bury a dozer should be easy using said same dozer......My question is how do you then bury it?

Geez, with his other bull dozer. Why do you think he's going broke?

I don't understand 'spay and release' of cats. As was pointed out, they are an exotic, invasive species. FL already has a lot of trouble with those. They have a program here where they spend umpteen dollars capturing, spaying, and releasing feral cats. Why? Couldn't those resources be better used helping, I dunno, feral HUMANS?

Rabbits are not native to our island. They breed like rabbits and the island is over run with the little buggers. A group of people had to SAVE wild rabbits that were causing grief around the University of Victoria. Guess what happened. They rescued them, spayed/neutered them and now some of them are housed only a few miles from here. I do think some (230) got sent to Wild Rose Rescue Ranch in Whitehouse,Texas. At our place we see wild rabbits every day, guess we need more feral cats :confused2: to keep the rabbits :licking: under control. I just shake my head that people spend good money on these invasive rabbits.

If you are a lover of wildlife and or a bird watcher feral cats are our worst enemys.the songbirds and native wildlife that feral cats decimate every year is unbelievable.
There are actually misguided animal lovers that donate lots of money to programs that trap feral cats, neuter or spay them and re-release them back into a non native environment. IMO it should be illegal.
All feral cats should be exterminated.

The alleged true story about one contractor I know is a bank was ready to repo his dozer and he buried it to keep them from getting it.

This summer a friend asked me to drive his Cockshutt 30 in the local town's annual parade amd while I was waiting for the event to start, I was chatting with one of the guys volunteering to help out the organizers. He told me of a fellow he knew who also had the finance people after him...they wanted to re-possess a Case wheel loader. The guy didn't want to going to give it up so he painted the loader Terex green and stuck a Terex name plate on it. Apparently it worked!

btw...That little Cockshutt 30 won a first place ribbon!

Maybe but it wouldn't do anything about the ferel cat problems unless it was used to teach the ferel humans to trap and eat the ferel cats.

What is it they say give a man a cat and you feed him for a day but teach a man to trap cats and you feed him forever......?or something like that?

The theory is that by 'fixing' the ferel cats and releasing them the cats will continue to occupy and defend their territory, thereby keeping out other ferel cats. If you kill off all the ferel cats in an area, if you could actually do that even, then other cats from other areas would move in and occupy the newly released territory and you would soon be right back to where you started.

That is just the theory that the trap, spay, release people advocate......at least my understanding of it.

The feral humans should be sent to Maryland so the governor could send them to college at state expense. That way he could buy more votes
