Feral cats

I used to take the interstate to work and one day there was this small gray kitten sitting on the white line facing the woods. The traffic was going about 70. I pulled into the breakdown lane- backed up and got out and scooped the kitten up and went to work. I kept him in an open box for the day. He was in shock. I had that cat for 17 years, a real favorite. As a kid I worked and pulled a stray out of a cistern pipe heading to our basement. Cat had been crying for day and a half. Talk about grateful, that was this cat- rubbing and purring- though I had never seen him before. Some people just love to kill things. I don't. There is not much difference between animals and people, just communication styles, and one is funnier looking!

All in all, I like my pair of dogs (GSD) way better than a LOT of the people I have met over the years...make that most of the people.

My Mickey turned 11 this June and he is definitely feeling the years. I fear he won't make another year. :( Minnie is now 9 1/2 and she still has a puppy's enthusiasm.

Exactly! It's too darn bad you can't "eliminate" the real problem, the irresponsible pet owners. I get tears in my eyes everytime I have to deal with a feral cat, but I'm not sure if it's from sadness or anger.

Jim thanks I didn't add this point last nite as I was in a hurry to get home and thought about it as I went out the door but getting rid of these cats dropping them out in the country etc because they get pregnant is the worst thing a pos human could ever do to anything imho.

I dont know of any animal that will try so hard to survive as a female cat with kittens and bless their hearts they do an admirable job with horrible odds.

My last adopted kid was this time last year same 100 degree temps no water and she was a 1+ yr old orange kitty hanging around my shop turns out that had a litter somewhere and she was literally skin and bones hip bones sticking out ribs showing just awful skinny.

I made friends with her of course and started feeding her and it was heart breaking to see that skinny little kitty sitting out in the driveway watching me leave on weekends when I would just pop in to feed her. And then she started knowing when I would get there in the morning and would be sitting out in the middle of the drive when I got to work just pitiful.

Long story short she lost the litter soon after we made friends I never could find them so I took her in got her checked out at the vet, shots, blood work and all she got a clean bill of health luckily or I would have been a mess if we would have had to put her down.

She has the run of my house now shes an indoor only cat now and is the boss of all my other cats and she is half their size its funny to watch them give her plenty of room and we call her little miss chubby now her name is Missy though and she's fixed. :D

22 CB caps with an X cut in the point of the bullet

Do you take a bite while you're at it of the protruding slug to make sure it's the good stuff - all lead!?
I hear if the cat is gray you have to use gold slugs, and if the cat is black you have to use silver. Be care now, those are some vicious beasts you're stalking! Feral, you know! -even tougher than a texas jackalope!

Have a great day!

One cat can clear a ten to twenty acre area of nearly all wildlife. Especially a female with kittens to feed. They destroy birds nests, squirrels, rabbits and everything else not big enough to eat them first.

Feral cats should be shot on sight to protect the native wildlife.

RSKY

HORSE SQUEEZE...!!! We have 11 acres and one of our cats gets outdoors half the day in decent weather in the warmer months. He preys on mice, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, etc. and hasn't even begun to make a dent in the wildlife population. When I go out in the morning even with my lousy eyes I can see a half dozen rabbits most days. What do you consider wildlife? Raccoons? Woodchucks? Possums? All worthless vermin that should be shot on sight, IMO. For what it us worth, all the neighbors around me are very happy to have him visit their land and do something about their pest problems. Heck, I should hire him out and make some money. I just wish I could leave him out at night to get rid of the fricking deer who chew my trees.

And we USED to have feral cats around here, but with Tiggs around, we have not seen any for the past year. He simply beats the s--- out of them when they are stupid enough to trespass.

Brother in law has shed in town, 15 cats kept showing up in shed. One day seeing them entering shed, blocks exit. Grabs baseball bat and gunney sack. Now a few days later, neighbor ladies come over for bunko night. One mentions something about their cat missing, a few others chimmed in about same situation. BIL & wife say nothing. No longer cats in the shed.
