An untrained eye usually would not, so yea i see your point.

So now you are super man on grease (using laser eye vision)? Show me the raw data on why it is better? No stories, real data...

I love this site. Same stuff 9+ years later.

I think we've been here before. Like you said same stuff different day. What kind of "raw data" are you looking for. There is only so many tests available. I've provided the location before where that info can be found. Schaeffer Oil | Synthetic Motor Oils, Engine Oils, Diesel Fuel Additives, Industrial Lubricants Manufacturer, MSDS/Technical Data, 238 Ultra Supreme. I can only go so far or I would hand deliver it to you.

Look up Aluminum Complex and Lithium Complex on Wikipedia. Independant definitions. Aluminum Complex is waterproof with reversibility that exceeds 95%. Take a glob of any Aluminum Complex Grease put it in your palm. Add water and stir. Its waterproof, wont wash out, lasts longer, wont sling out, pound out or wash out. Do the same with Lithium Complex. It changes texture and consistency. It will emulsify. Once it does it will wash out, sling out and pound out. It has about 65% reversibility characteristic.

Any Aluminum Complex thickened grease will outlast Lithium Complex Greases. That number can vary from 40% to 80% depending on the grease. Put it up against cheaper greases from Tractor Supply or Wal Mart the ratio will be 3:1 and 4:1 depending on the application. For example, the extreme drought in Texas has significantly reduced humidity, therefore Lithium Complex greases are lasting a bit longer than they would with normal rain fall in Texas. Where do you live? What is the weather pattern there? Are you near any lakes or rivers? Do you irrigate? All of these things have an impact on grease consumption with many other things.

I fix and restore machines for a living, the only lubricants that I use are Mobil1. I cannot afford to have an inferior product cause a failure on a machine that someone uses to put food on their table.

All of my clients rely on their machinery for their living as well. Mobil 1 is a great product. They use PAO synthetic base stock because of the high Viscosity Index. However, they put little effort into friction modifiers. In side by side performance test, Schaeffer's has outperformed Mobil 1 since it was developed in the early 70's. Schaeffer's uses the same PAO synthetics and a powerful friction modifying package as well. I use Mobil 1 to demonstrate against in my presentation. Not only do my clients get exceptional performance, they significantly reduce their operating expenses.

sounds like you are a sales rep for them. Been on here way to long (not this longon) and skip the proaganda. The other guy on here is pimping TX refinery great like it will blow your away...

Case in point, for how many years farmers, mining equ, OTR etc are NOT using Schaeffer's and the equ is still about and well..

I get the reducing expenses from Mobil people, Amsoil, Cat, etc on there products too.

A typical loader arm moves 130 degrees, a bucket may move 145 degrees. (more or less) This is not high speed but certainly with load factors. Your hydraulic cylinders are hotter than your pivot points. It is important that these points are greased regularly. If you have the dollars for the super high end stuff, use it. Synthetics and high end oils can decrease intervals for changing but grease is grease. Lack of grease is a bigger sin than using a lower grade one.

I love it when people say "grease is grease". It's job security for me. I absolutely agree that any grease is better than none. You'd have to be a complete idiot to run a dry bearing in an expensive piece of equipment. Schaeffer is all over Wisconsin, our guys up there are fairly successfull, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it.

My bad, it's apparently not moly but either way it's red and I bought it at a tractor supply store.

I like the bigfoot grease it is soooo sticky. It is really good and holds on to pins great, it also matches kubota or kioti in its orange color.

I realize that all grease is not the same...
However, I've used the cheap stuff on my RFM and implements for years...
My last RFM was used for 14 years and never had a bearing failure...
I probably over grease but grease is cheap...
Even high priced grease is cheap compared to replacing parts...
Buy what you like but I have have had very good performance with the cheaper stuff...
