The museum we went to in Canyon Texas was the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum - Texas's Largest Museum.

I always like museums and in our travels we visited lots of them. We visited that one on June 18, 1994. And while were were in the panhandle, we visited the American Quarterhorse Association Museum in Amarillo on July 4, 1994.

We've not seen the one at Glenrose or Siloam Springs, but in the mid-70s we saw the Great Passion Play at Eureka Springs, AR, and it was a magnificent production.

Bird, I stand corrected on the town, it was in Eureka Springs, my wife and you set me straight.

Yes that is the one Don, I have seen the bill baords on the interstate and US 287 for years, I think it's time to go see it.

I can tell you without hesitation, if you have never been to the Smithsonian in DC, you really haven't been to a Museum. I mean that politely. What ever your interest, it is there, so much history, plan for a week or more. I spent over 3 days just in the Natural history wing:cool:

I've just got a great memory.

Actually, Don, before I retired, I read a couple of books by full time RVers since we knew that was what we were going to do. So when I retired I started keeping a log/diary/journal or whatever you want to call it intending to write a book myself. But I just never got around to writing that book. But I've continued keeping a lot of information on my computer.

Channel 8 news had a story on the Trinity water aquifer for us N Texans. 20-80 feet low depending on where you are in the aquifer. They said it's the lowest it's ever been since the 50's when they started monitoring it. Dallas, Ft Worth and Denton broke water use records today

Photo is a youngster looking for a drink, what youngster has never done that??!

Bird,
I saw her dipping her finger in a cup that had water and ice cubes in it; then running her wet finger around the edge before pinching together. Cold dough is the secret. Even warm hands mess up dough. She used a pancake turner and fork in combination to turn the pies over in the hot grease. They took quite a while to cook on each side in the 450 degree oil.
