Oil Disposal

I spread it on my road.... keeps the dust down.:D

I really hope you are joking about that, a small amount of oil dumped can pollute huge amounts of groundwater.

I wondered how long it would take someone to notice. Of course not. I don't even dump used ethylene glycol.

I put a smiley fade on it.......

My employer has collection tanks, filter crushers and related equipment plus they heat the shop with waste oil burners so all my used oil goes there.

I like it toasty in the winter and I do my part.

Don't be crabby with me. I'm trying to inject some humor on this hot, muggy day.:D

It actually wasn't meant to be a useful comment. I'm not a fan of TSC, the scratch, dent and bang store.

I remember when you made your first post on this site but then, I took a 6 year vacation. I lurked back then and times were much simpler.

Find someone with a waste oil heater. Local construction company comes out and pumps my 55 gal barrle about twice a year. They usualy leave a box of adult beverages.

I'f you get to inject humor.. I get to be crabby.. right? ;)

What specifically do you have against TSC? while not a perfect store.. they do tend to save me round trips to my tractor dealer.. and in a pinch do have usefull tools and products.. again.. way closer thana real tool store..e tc.

Wish I lived closer to a TSC. Both near me are a 20-25 minute drive one way. About the same distance as one of those big box home center stores, what I like about TSC is being able to pick the quantity of hardware I want and pay for it by the pound. Have never really had an issue with TSC in 20 years of buying there.

The local garbage dump that the region runs here has a hazardous wast disposal every other Saturday. I collect mine and make a trip there once or twice a year.

In the past, after draining oil filters, I have put them in the garbage. I now realize that this is not a good thing to do and I will collect them and take them in as well to the same spot.

I do this for old fuel and used coolant also.

I've wondered about this. When I run my chainsaw I can go through 2 or 3 bar oil fillings in a given session. This is close to 1/2 quart. That must be going somewhere...
