When "P" doesn't really mean Park?!?

Nope, no way.

It's not like YOU had the bracket out of adjustment. This is a new tractor. If the dealer tries to collect from you, I would call John Deere immediately!

Simply stated - the problem was not of my doing... I do not believe it should be my responsibility.

The real issue here is - I bought the tractor from another dealer - and the "repair" dealership is edging into vindictive waters.

They're not happy that I didn't buy from them (2nd time, now). And they're not going to be very helpful - period! And if at all possible, they're gonna make it as difficult for me as they can!

I understand...

So, after I sell my JD110 TLB and upgrade to another cab tractor - I don't expect I'll be spending much time "chatting up" the sales folk's in their showroom!

Simple enough... I figure they'll understand, too! :D

Tell them you will call JD if they don't "hook you up".

Does Shane feel that this should be covered under warranty?

If he does I would think there is something he can do from his end. Either contact John Deere for you, work with you local dealer or at least give you a name and number of who to contact at JD. If he feels it is the shipper that caused this problem and he is the one that contracted with the shipper, he should step in and help here as well.

Yep... he's workin' on it! Short term - this is a minor bump in the road. Long term - the local JD guys need to adjust their "professional conduct"!

I've got alot more time and hours of warranty coverage and I don't want to have to play the game of "calling in JD corporate" each and every time I need to have work done on the tractor!

How did this work out? Any resolution?

The tractor is home. Works great... just like it should have! Simple adjustment of the Park bracket that allowed the shift arm to fit the shift pattern - and engage the Park pawl.

I worked out the financial end with Shane at Mutton's.

I have not yet had the opportunity to have an "honest conversation" with the local JD manager.

The last two visits to the dealership - he was out the first time and the second time another customer was negotiating on a new tractor.

I'm glad that there wasn't a serious problem with the tractor - I'm not very happy with the way the local dealership handled the problem. Time will tell... I need to do a bit of homework regarding warranty coverage as well as information gathering regarding JD's chain of command. Who do I contact and so forth -- for the next time that I need any kind of repair.
