Heres a good oportunity to buy something. Get yourself a beater old S10 or ranger. You can find a decent one for trips to the dump or lowes for less than $1500, and keep the greasy stuff tools soiled garbage etc out of your $40K vehicle! Just use it for runs of this kind of stuff and park it in the side yard all other times so does not need to be pretty. OR you could jus tget a small 4x8 utility trailer, both will haul way more than that Youkon XL could think about.

LOL LOL I have an aluminum 6X12 utility trailer with a 2400 pound capacity that gets a lot of use, but I do contract carpentry work as a sideline and a lot of times I can easily carry what I need in the GMC. As for buying another vehicle, no way. Wife and I have two cars, my GMC, and a summer driver ragtop. Insurance on even a beater is expensive, as is registration. Thanks for your suggestion, though.

they weight a metric ton and are virtually impossible to cut. (almost as bad as old conveyor belt)

I purchased one of their 4X8 stall mats and cut it to use as a soft rubber edge for my JD rear blade and ATV plow blade, they cut really easy using a Sawzall or jigsaw. The floor of my GMC cargo area is easy to protect with carpet remnants and padding, it's the vertical surfaces (folded seats, door panels, etc that get the beating.

Since you guys hate the stall mat idea, why not measure up the area and see if a hard plastic bed liner from a compact pickup will do the job, I'm guessing they can be found at the local junkyard for less than $50

You sure about that? I had a 99 that I sold last May but it only cost me $133 per year for insurance and actually lowered my other trucks insurance so in the end maybe $100. Plates were less than $50

Try visiting one of the spray-on bedliner shops, they usually have several bed liners lying around and will part with them for next to nothing as eventually, they must haul them away.

Go online to Bass Pro or Cabelas they both carry the cargo trays you are talking about. They have a lip on them to contain the dirt and water that hunting dogs track in.

Husky Liners. I like their cargo mats and floor mats. They're custom molded for each specific vehicle and are rugged as ****. I've got em in my Jeep Wrangler 4 door. Husky Liners® - Floor Liners | Floor Mats | Car Floor Mats | Cargo Liners | Mud Flaps | Huskyliners.com

You guys that keep sugesting the cabellas and BassPro premium liners must just keep missing the parts where he says its not the FLOOR he wants protected but the wheel wells and sides, IE the plastic or carpet that goes up the walls. It gets scratched by anything metal or plastic that touches it.

Im With DP still on this. If you use it for business you can take it as a tax deduction.

Back seats folded down, a tarp and very careful loading have worked for me.:)
