A Quick Question

to the op.. no need to weld fittings to a plate.. there is a premade pressure / return clamp that holds 2 hoses with qd's, and has a tab on it with a bolt hole for mounting... but as said.. you are really trying to fix a problem that don't exist. forget the valve.. the shorter stub hose and 2 more qd's solves the issue and you just plug those together at the valve to complete the circuit, and the other hoses you leave on t he backhoe, plugged together when not in use to keep em clean..

Yes, or use these "Bulkhead Fittings"

You have to connect the two lines together to keep the flow goin/QUOTE]

Isn't the backhoe run from the power beyond ports on the loader controller. Aren't these ports normally plugged if only the loader is in use and there are no hydraulic attachments?

Egon.. all we know is as per the original poster. he says he has to connect 2 hoses to complete a loop for his hyds to work.. so that's what we are basing the responses on.

kenny.. yep.. then bulkhead fittings are nice.. especially for mouting in plate or angle.

garbageman,

You can do what you want to do with a single lever , 3 position detent valve, and not have to mess with connecting the two hoses together. The QD's from the BH would just plug in, no mess.

The hose from the PB port of the FEL would connect to the IN port of the new valve, and the PB port from the new valve would connect to the 3pt. Another hose from the OUT port will have to go to tank. If you use the flat face connectors, you can plug under low residual pressure. If the valve is in the center detent, there is no pressure of flow to the work ports. This set up will add this valve in series with the hyd flow. When the BH is connected, it will also be in series with the flow.

This valve can be a 3 position detent valve, so you can work the BH. The new valve would have a male and female QD on the valve work ports, so you can plug in the BH.

So, yes, go ahead and do what you were originaly thinking.

No. You are confusing the OP. If the valve is equipped with a PB sleeve, the fluid must have a path back to the tank.

Where, what company sells a 3 position detent valve? My hydraulic knowledge is limitted. You understand what I'm trying to do

Thanks for all of the responses

The backhoe fluid/pressure supply comes from a port that is normally blocked. Why do you need a return line if there is no flow thru this port as happens when you disconnect the backhoe.

Egon,

The flow is from the PB port of the FEL valve, and would go to the back of tractor as the supply for the BH, or the new valve, and then the new valve PB port would go to the 3pt. All hoses and valves must be in series.

The OUT ports would go to tank

Any valve you add there will add restriction to the system, and build up heat.
