Price Check Help me with price on 5425 ?

I can pick up a 2007 5425 with 600hrs, cab, 542 (non leveling) loader, power reverser 12x12, skid steer bucket, in great shape - asking price is 36,900. Looking at tractor house, most comparables are 40-42k, so I'm thinking this is a "deal" especially if I can offer a bit less. This is my first post, new member, thanks in advance for your help! Want to move on this next day or two....

Best I can tell, that was the last year before it's replacement model was introduced. (5085M) I have a 5085M, and you will pay a great deal more for it than the asking price on the tractor that you're looking at. Not sure what the differences are between the two models, but I love the power reverser transmission.

As far as negotiating a price, if you believe that the price is reasonable, (I certainly do) I wouldn't make a counter-offer that would insult him. It's probably OK to offer a little less, (it usually doesn't hurt to ask) but be realistic, it looks like a nice tractor.

X2 here... don't get carried away on that price! Machine looks to be top drawer! The owner won't have a difficult time selling and you don't want to be on his bad side from the git go!

Try not to hit your toe on the door sill when you launch yourself thru the front door!!

Thank you for the advice, I am thinking of offering $35000 even. Comes with a construction bucket (black) that has been used once. Hopefully that's not low enough to offend him ? ? Tractor is in nice shape Will repost if I get it..

IMHO, I would not consider that an offensive offer. Now an offer below $30k would probably get you a suggestion, or worse, to leave the premises.

i would offer 20% less than a equal tractor advertised by a dealer on tractor house .

Took all your advice and got it for $34k!! Also picked up some implements at a good price too. Won't bore you with those details yet...
