Aaaahhhhhhhh. Finally. Raining pretty heavily here. Never thought I would get so excited over a thunderstorm.

Ain't it the truth! We haven't had anything I'd call pretty heavy, but the temperature dropped from 82 to 74 between 4 & 5 a.m. and we were getting a light rain at 5 a.m. Haven't gotten a half inch yet, but over a third of an inch; still barely sprinkling a little bit. Not enough to break the drought, but we're sure thankful for what we've gotten so far.

I feel so sorry for you all in Texas this year. We received about 8" of rain this week here in NE Oklahoma and it is truly a blessing. The rain will come to you just stay positive.

It started raining at 7:20 this morning and continued for about 3 hours. Sure was a sight for soar eyes. Dropped the temp about 10 degrees. Ended up with a little over a 1/2 in. We sure a appreciate what we got, but we need a lot more.

Just got back from feeding the horses in Scurry. They/We got some rain, but not a lot. Enough to wet everything down, at least. Pastures are no longer a dust bowl. Every bit helps at this point. Hopefully we'll get more this afternoon, as they are saying there is a potential.

Took it until 3am to get here! ended up with just less than a 1/2"!! That should help a few trees survive till we get some more. I noticed while out yesterday that allot of under brush is dying, even a few willows in the dry creek are "downgraded"

Kind of surreal going out on the porch, feels and looks like the first day of Spring when you can wait to see Green!

I figure I got about .47" total before it quit. We went to Muenster to stock up on meats and drove through one maybe quarter mile downpour south of Gainesville, but mostly either very light or no rain.

I know heat is hard on tires, but I don't guess I've ever seen so much truck tire tread along the road as on I-35 today between Denton and Gainesville.

Bird,
I was right beside a tire that let go once, that will sure get your attention at 70mph.
