Backhoe New Woods BH80X today..

May I ask where you purchased and for how much? You can PM me the info, or indicate it's none of my business if you like. I ask because there was talk on here about it when Woods came out with the kit. At the time is was allegedly about a grand for the kit, but when I priced it at a Kubota dealer...... it was almost $1400. So.... I have not ordered the kit yet.

I'm looking forward to your pics of the install. ;)

I bought the conversion kit from MB Tractor in Tilton for $955. I installed most of the kit this weekend, but unfortunately don't have any pics. However, the instructions and fit of the components are very good.

Thanks. I swore them off this past winter after getting the run around from them once again. I got a price from the place in Milford, but perhaps I should think about trying the Plaistow store instead. Painful to spend money at a dealer so unwilling to take my money.

I am about to make a deal on a new B3200HSD from dealer. I am interested in the HX80 bucket with hydro thumb. I would like to know the fair price for this backhoe before I sign up for it. Can you tell me fair price with thumb?

regards,
Bob

I believe I paid $7500 for mine installed (rear remotes not the pto pump) with the mech thumb. That was just over a yr ago.

Thanks RobK. Dealer is looking for $8000. I'll tell him my buddy just bought one for $7.5k and see if he will move.

Seems like there are a lot here on the board from NH. Been here in NH a month and loving it.

regards,
Bob

I also have an L3400 and want to get the Woods BH80X. If anybody cares to update this thread about how much am I looking at with a PTO kit? I am going with separate PTO hydraulics rather than tap into the tractor hydraulics. It makes more sense to me to do it like that.

Actually it's a mechanical thumb. I can see already where a hydraulic would be nice.

I also missed that on first glance. Are the holes for the mechanical "sliding tube" the same as for a standard cylinder so it could be converted?

Yes. Woods actually sells a complete kit to convert the thumb to hydraulic control on both the 80X and 90X. As far as I know, there is no kit available for the 70X.

For anyone buying new, they are available hydraulic right from the factory.

any chance you could take a picture of the subframe? I am considering buying the bh80x for my l3400. Can't find any here in California, i want one now, the closest is on ebay back east. the kubota dealer, any of them, their their bh77 is not available until the end of the month and they want 8 K over here for them. I have been wondering if the woods bh80x is a better deal and stronger. Harry, thanks
