Drawbar Question 2210D

I have a 2210D with the standard drawbar under the rear axle. I have an old baler that I pull with it, only problem is the drawbar is too short. When I make left hand turns and the let the baler swing the PTO shaft gets in a bind becuase (after reading manual for baler) the baler hitch needs to be sitting 14 inches back from the end of the PTO on the tractor, and right now the shaft and the drawbar are nearly dead even.
So....... Do they make a longer drawbar for this tractor? I am not fond of the idea of using a drawbar for the 3 point, but I guess I could make a arm that goes from the real drawbar to the 3 point drawbar ......??
Would be way more simple to just find a longer drawbar... and ideas?

That's the solution then. As far as ways to do it...agrisupply has a 30 inch drawbar but lists no dimensions of the steel stock. I'd try to get it matched at the steel shop and just make one. Have the yard shear, punch, bore, bend, and whatever else you want there in the yard. It's worth avoiding the headache attempting to drill a 1" hole through 7/8", 1", or 1 1/8" steel, or bend it.

My PTO baler is pretty small, but I'd be leery about pulling it behind an extended drawbar like that. I think it would bend. My baler would bend my drawbar if it were 14 inches longer, at least. If I were going to try it, I guess I would try to devise a setup that had some braces for the drawbar that would go around the PTO shaft, and join at a point where I could pin the top link in, then tighten it up to better support the weight.

Your baler may not be as heavy as mine up front, though. I've got an IH47. (Not that I have any idea what any other baler would weigh, or know what mine weighs on the tongue, except "a lot more than I can lift by hand"....:laughing

Fastest would be to use the drawbars between the link arms, but you said you don't want to do that, plus that's likely more than 14" back. You may not have enough PTO shaft length to let that work. Also, you still may bend the drawbar.

Besides the binding PTO shaft, how does the 2210D do with a baler? Does it get knocked around by the baler very much?

If I am understanding correctly you are needing to go back an additional 14". I would think you could be putting your mounting area in jeopardy with that much additional length. Not sure your idea of going from the draw bar to the 3 point wouldn't be a better solution.

Yes I need to go back an additional 14 inches.
Like you say I am a little worried about the attachment point for the drawbar extending it that far out.

I am going to have to ponder this one a little bit.

THe baler I am using is an old Allis Chalmers, and surprisingly does pretty good behind the little 2210, if I go too fast and get a huge wad of hay in front of the ram it does rattle the tractor around but if I just take my time it does a good job.

Here's what I did

I've got a bunch of other attachements including a winch, grab hook, shackle. I wanted to have a longer hitch for safety reasons. I figure the tractor's not going to tip over backwards if the hitch is long enough.
