Just curious if anyone has a Vermeer 1400 trail mower or any other size Vermeer trail mower and what their opinions are on it. I would like to know how well it works and if its worth the price. I'd also like to know what happens if i hit an obsturction such as a rock, large mole hill, tree branch, rake tooth, etc with it? Is there some form of breakaway or a shear pin to prevent damage to the drive system?

The TM1400 is available only in 1000 Rpm. The floating system is just like a combine header system that is nitrogen charged. Also each cutting side has a safety pivot or also known as a kick-back. The 1200 is available in both 540 & 1000 RPM models. HayDR

Thanks for the reply, I've read about the suspension system and really like the concept. I'm more concerned about impact protection. Kinda curious how well the safety pivot or kickback system works. I've talked to a few guys that have JD disc conditioners and New Holland disc conditioners here and they really like the ease of changing the shockpro hubs on the NH mowmax and I believe JD has a similar setup. Does Vermeer have anything like this? I'd really like to hear from anyone using any of the Vermeer disc mowers or conditioners who have used them in real field conditions just to see how they work and have held up.

The 1400 has not been out very long. The 1200 has been sold for less than 5 years. But there really is nothing on the market like the 1200 or 1400 by any other manufacturer.
