Kioti CK30 HST
I just changed my Hydro/hydraulic fluid and used Mobil hydraul synthetic blend fluid, changed both filters (used Bobcat filters) as I have no dealer nearby.
When I first changed the fluids all seemed well but last night I used it a bit and noticed my hydrostatic foot pedal was sticking when going forward, also the tractor movement was jerky.
when I changed the fluids I put in about 28L,checked the level, started the tractor and let it idle for a bit, checked level again and seemed good.I will check the level again today but I am assuming it will be good?
Any ideas whats going on here?

Thanks

Did you try all 3 gear ranges? Is it the same in each? What about the loader and 3ph, are they operating ok?

In reading your post you mentioned, " foot pedal was sticking when going forward,". Could it have something to do with the pedal or linkage. Hopefully this morning it works perfectly for you. :)

You may be airbound. Did you fill the filters before installing them to reduce air entering into the hydraulics? If not, there may be air pockets which are affecting proper operation of the hydraulics. You could drop the filters and fill them now, and try to reduce the air entering the system.

you know, I forgot to add fluid in the filters,|I guess I better check this out but sounds logical...dang..

So, does the air work itself out some how??

Haven't checked it out yet....darn internet,coffee...:D

I have never added oil to any of my filters over the years and no problems. Guess we will see if this is the problem, really have never heard about adding oil to a filter. Just saying. :)

It is better NOT to put oil in your filters, the pumps will fill the filter and push oil into the reservoir where it is vented. This way the filter see only filtered oil. No oil is not 100% contamination free.

Have you greased the 2 foot pedal grease points under the operator platform recently? Also spray some lubricant on the pins and linkage points under there.

Note: Refill capacity is 30.7L, you may be a little low.

I haven't had to fill my filters with oil. Doing that would make a mess when refitting the hydrostatic one.
It could be coincidence that the little centralizer piston for your footpedal could be sticking. It is easy to free up.

Well took her out today ,started by lubing up the hydro linkage and piston under the foot pedal with wd40, then proceeded to work on a small drainage canal.
At first it was still sticking in forward only, but seemed to work in as I used it,after a bit of work it was working good again,I guess iut was just fluke that it failed the same time I changed fluid..at least I hope its going to keep working!
I did check my fluid level as I only put about 28L back in,figuring their would be some residual left so it should be close. The level is very hard to detect (fluid is clear) but was able to see it good if I pulled the dipstick out and turned it upright and watched the oil pool on the stick,it was at the full mark.

Thanks for all the help!

I just got my CK 30HST back from the dealer and they changed out the hydro/trans fluid with what they call Kioti oil? I had Mobil hydraul extra in it which is supose to be synthetic. The mechanic said not to use synthetic as i would not like it in the winter? it would take forever ot get it going. This doesn't make sense.

Someone's blowing smoke up your chute on the synthetic being more difficult to start in winter. It would flow more easily due to molecular structure. Kioti doesn't make oil- they recommend like all motor manufacturers, a range of oils/viscosity, etc. and various brands.

What I said earlier about filing the hydraulic filters prior to install got caught up in my equipment database overflow. I was referring to what to do when filling the filters on my Scag mower - sorry for any confusion, mea culpa

weeeell, took the dog out today to give it a bath (pressure wash it) and pulling it out of the shop the hydro pedal was sticking in forward, release the pedal and it SLOWLY came to a stop...so, guess Im back to square one on this one.
Could it be the mobil hydraul? jeesh, would hate to dump $130 down the tube the drain..

Still guessing it may be in your petal and/or linkage. Perhaps give it a good cleaning and make sure nothing is bent, then a good lube job. :)

Was it still jerky or just pedal sticky in forward. If only slow to return to neutral, maybe your center cylinder is dragging or weak spring.

I would suggest lubricating the pedal and linkages with something better than WD40, especially if it worked good for a short period. I don't find that WD has much staying ability. I had issues getting my CK30 in/out of 4wd, I used Fluid Film on the pedal and linkage and it has been working fine for over a year. Although it was a little stiff last time I tried it so it is time to spray it again. I think a good spray Lithium grease would be even better.

Fluid Film is a Lanolin based product. It seems the op needs to determine if the problem is lubrication based or a mechanical mechanism issue, or both. Once determined then solutions arise.

Mine has been doing this on and off for the past year and a half. Mine only freezes in position if the HST is under load ie..starting up a fairly steep grade or just starting off, driving the loader into a pile of material, etc. If the load comes off the HST the pedal will release as per normal. Someone on here and if memory serves me correctly (Michigan Iron) mentioned something about the neutral cartridges sticking. I have just never got around to pulling them out to see if they are sticking, dirty or whatever. Also someone else on this site had a mechanism of some type replaced by the dealer for the same problem. I think I may persue this before my warranty runs out next spring.
