Yeah, I think what I have on pasture right now will cover my herd until the first snow...at which time they won't be able to get to it any more.

I have been watching out for my own hay equipment, but so far the ROI is just too far out.

Yeah I have been keeping my eye out for good used stuff, but not going out of my way to find it. I almost bought all new stuff this year but desided it wasnt a good idea with the lack of rain this year would have just sat in the shed.

Just some at work pictures today using the new cutter. Kinda weird not leaving rows of cut grass.

Nothing like a newly mowed field. Have a new tractor and shredder and I was ready for summer, but I've done my pasture only once this year. I miss all the seat time, and I really miss the smell of fresh cut grass and the look of a just cut pasture. Thanks for the pictures they help. Had to get my seat time digging a pond so it's still good. If we ever get enough rain I'm ready to get after it next year.

Again thanks for the pictures......I can almost smell the grass!!

Hi Guys,

Love all the pix. You can't beat that feeling at the end of the day. In my case, as I have purchased a run down farm it is land I have never seen before. Once you see it you can decide what you want to do with it.

Video of my new tractor on slopes.

Cheers Zac

If I want to stand on something flat, I have to stand on the concrete in the shed. Everything else slopes one way or another!

electrarc, great video. I take it that is the farm you bought, good looking farm, great for pasture farming. It kind of reminds me of my farm in Iowa, only my slopes are not quite as steep.

I have also have never seen that brand of tractor before, or seen anyone go mower first down slopes. I don't think I could do that with my flail mower.

Here are a a photo taken today as I tried to cut an area that will be too wet to enter for a few weeks once the hurricane arrives Saturday evening.
I initially used a Bobcat Forestry Cutter to turn the trees and saplings to mulch. Then the weeds began to grow.
I enjoyed it but I was racing the storm!
The upload restricted my size thus one per post. This was the area as I began to mow.

This was the area after I finished. Made it just before the first storm of the front ahead of the hurricane.
Man!! We have a 6000 acre fire near our land, just had an earthquake and now a hurricane. Only good is we need rain and this will put out the fire, I pray no one is harmed by the hurricane

Thanks, I was mowing along one of the small ponds on that property, we have two more, one of which is five acres.

We are trying to reestablish Switch Grass in that field, so we have a lot to do.

I sure am glad that metal went into the foam filled tire instead of one on the tractor. I have several more days of mowing on that property, so I may find some more surprises.:(

Gordo 56,

Thanks for posting the pix of your land, it looks great. The farm we bought has 7 large ponds, 4 dams (1 broke), creek and river frontage so I am always on sloping ground. Hence the Italian hill tractor. The reversible drivers position is just great.

Cheers
