Has anyone put a suspension seat in their S3010? I just bought a CVT28 which is the same tractor as the S3010 and the factory seat is absolutely terrible. I would be find with a standard seat, but my wife has back problems so going to a suspension seat is pretty much a must.

I am a average 5'10 but legroom seems to be limited by the design. I did a mock up with the suspension seat I put on my Farmall M and I don't have enough legroom. The seat is this type.

Universal Tractor Seat with Adjustable Suspension, Black - 0278205 | Tractor Supply Company

The rectangular channel that is behind the backrest hits against the fuel tank and doesn't allow me enough room to mount the seat far enough back.

Has anyone done a swap to a suspension seat, and which one worked well? I am looking for other options before I pull the fuel tank and remount to the rear of the ROPS to get some more room.

Thanks.

I swapped out my stock S3010 seat with this one:

A&I Seat

I had to modify the mount holes in the bottom plate for the 4 seat mount bolts as I ran into the same problems you did with the seat frame hitting the fuel tank. I'm 6' and now the space is even tighter than before, but I can live with that. I COULDN'T live with the beating I was taking with the stock seat.

I also installed a auto-retracting seat beat I found at Northern Tools. I couldn't reuse the original seal belt because it was bolted to the tractor frame -- if the seat moves, the belt also has to.

Nick,

From looking online it appears as if the seat mounting on the CVT28 and CT28 are significantly different. I have a raised casting on the rear axle housing that looks like it might be too high to use the very nice looking factory seat.

Could you measure the vertical distance from the platform where you put your feet to where the bottom of the seat mounts? If it is close to the same I'd be inclined to get a seat like yours. I can fabricate any adapters or mounting plates I'd need if there is enough room to get the seat in there.

Thanks:thumbsup:
