Actually, it is a big deal.

Firemen use blue lights(on personal vehicles). Police use red. Ambulances use red.

Don't ever get caught with a red flashing light on your vehicle in Pa. unless you have a badge.

And blue is skeptical also unless you are a fireman and responding to a fire (gonna be hard to explain a tractor responding to a fire call though).

You bring up good points, but you can use what ever light color you want when you are on private property. If I would ever find need to drive on the road, I'll probably remove all the lights (even the amber) to avoid any problems. I'll probably just use the red/blue light for show (see below) and never use it near the road...

No it won't...Everyone at the FD is always joking about me putting a blue light on the Kubota...I'll show them...

I just figured he wouldn't get ticketed (especially with the blue light), but it would be possible, I reckon.

I don't think I can get ticketed if I'm on my own property...I almost never take the BX on the road...

roy, yup it has a cig plug under the seat near floor board on the BX's as standard feature. CTF can use the direct wire connection in back of BX above pto shaft from wire loom if he wanted to for rops lights and amber flasher. :thumbsup:

Leave the amber ones on for road use, it's safer that way.

I use mine on the road for snow removal in front of my house. So I need to be seen, on the 'blind knoll' that I live on with a 'T' intersection.

A guy died in my driveway 4 years ago in a T bone collision.

I assumed you were installing the strobe for highway use. But for use on your own private property, they probably won't bother you with any color.

Last year I needed a light for my Zero turn because I mow on the side of the main road here but decided to install a LED light up under the ROPS. It's very bright and have a multitude of patterns and with one of the patterns you can have them on steady the time making it a great back up light. Easy on power consumption and should last a long time. I did have to put in an AC outlet to make it all work. I realize no one can see it coming front on but they sure can see me if they are behind me :laughing:

Apparently I upset you, such was not my intent.

You, I and Roy have worked on and near roads a lot, but there are newcomers to this site on a daily basis that read these threads and would think red and blue lights would look cool.

They take off down the road, and get cited by the police(especially here in Pa. where they are very strict on light usage)for using a red strobe on a motorized vehicle that is 'restricted use by law'.
