Apparently I upset you, such was not my intent.

You, I and Roy have worked on and near roads a lot, but there are newcomers to this site on a daily basis that read these threads and would think red and blue lights would look cool.

They take off down the road, and get cited by the police(especially here in Pa. where they are very strict on light usage)for using a red strobe on a motorized vehicle that is 'restricted use by law'.

Upset me? I don't understand...I'm not the least bit upset, offended, or mad...Sorry if you took my reply the wrong way...

Everything you have said so far has been true...

For those of you who just started reading this thread (and this is not directed at Roy, Don, or anyone specific):

I will be using the amber light when working near the road and around my property.

I will be using the red/blue light around my property for "show". I will not take it near/on the road. The reason I have a red/blue light is because my amber dome broke, and they only offer red/blue replacements.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES I WILL TAKE THE RED OR BLUE LIGHT ON THE ROAD

I am not mad or upset at anyone. Just wanted to get this point across to any newcomers...:)

I apparently did.

Years ago, when my BIL lived on Race St. in Somerset, Pa. He had a 74 Olds Cutlass, and since he was a sheet metal worker, and furnace installer for Miller and Rhoads, he made a real nice hood scoop for his car. He installed blue lights in it.

That night he went to visit Jeff(a coworker), and came back with a $50 citation for the blue lights. I don't recall if it was the State Police, or the Somerset Police that cited him, but they told him that blue and red were no-no's. Amber was fine.

If I would ever find need to drive on the road, I'll probably remove all the lights (even the amber) to avoid any problems.

That's when you'd need it most, CTF...

Yeah, but I think the local LEO's would not take kindly...;)
What I am saying (and I think RoyJackson is saying thee same thing) is leave the amber one on when you go on the road. Just the pull blue/red one and you should be fine with the LEOs.

Personally, I dont road our tractors without an amber beacon in addition to the OEM flashers.

Yeah, I'll probably do that...I rarely take the tractor on the road...Mostly I use it right up near the road...
