New fence project leads to 7 others

So finally got the other projects done and so it was on to drilling some of the post holes today. As a bonus it was sunny all day today, that's been kind of rare up this way.

You are correct, it is home made. Bought it used, it is either a car or truck rear end. The previous owner had drilled several thousand holes with it over a span of about 20 years, he was a landscaper. So it could be 25-35 plus years old. Didn't pay that much for it but as I stated earlier it beats the shovel method. I'm just amazed at what a nice job it does.

That controls the auger angle forward or backward, I use it when starting to drill so it hopefully goes straight down. Sometimes, once it gets into the ground a bit, I do move the tractor a bit forward or backwards to keep the auger going straight down. It's just that I like my posts to look straight. :dance1:

I like that typical "working the 3pt pose". Mid-Section slightly twisted, peeking at the attachment over the right shoulder. What do left hand people do? Or is the pose dictated by the position of the clutch on the left of the tractor? I have been in that position many, many times.....and now Motrin is required afterwards.

So other than finding and attaching two gate latches my fencing project is finished. :thumbsup: Decided not to move the shavings pile as it is getting low and will use it up from where it is. In the future I will make another spot for it outside the pasture area. Now the next project, which I started yesterday, is to make a black bear path around the outside of the new fence in the hope that this will keep the bears from going over the fence. Not all bad as I get more seat time.

Good job with the fence. I have had a tractor in the "fence pull" position many times. That simple process works amazingly well
