How do you transport your tractor & batwing bush hog?

Guys around here haul tractors with batwings all the time. U just need a long gooseneck with a dovetail on the back. No biggie. They do commercial bush hogging like u do.

Also if money is not an issue u could step up to a semi and dovetailed flatbed trailer. You can get some goo deals on used tractor trailers.

That's what my plan was. It's not like the trailer won't get used for anything else. Tractor routinely does harley rake, brush cleanup, york raking, etc. Plus I have mini-ex/backhoe etc to transport.

You're right, those are practically being given away.

The other reason I don't like roading my tractor is I don't have a truck to go out to grab lunch/dinner, repair parts or simply drive home at end of day.
I have several jobs that take 2-3 days to cut. What am I going to do, drive the tractor back and forth to the same job 6 times?

So are your batwing tires rated for "highway speeds"? I guess if they're aircraft tires they would be??? I never bother to look.
I'd like to be able to transport the whole rig all at once behind one manueverable trailer. Really want to avoid a long 31' tag behind dumptruck. It's such a b*tch to get in tight spots (and get out of them).
My batwing's tongue weight is 1,900lbs.

They are aircraft tires, IIRC they are rated at 15,000lbs each at 215mph, so hopefully they will hold up to plenty of highway travel.

Actually u can get a road tractor for around $20,000.... Of course its gonna have 700,000 miles on it! Lol!!! A lot of guys that pull tractors have big rigs to pull their toys with. It all depends on your bank account! (0:

Around here you can buy a decent single axle tractor from a shipping company (fed ex, UPS ect.) with high miles but excellent condition and maintenance for pennies on the dollar to tandem rigs, there seams to be no market for them. Acctually cheaper than a ton truck in equal condition, and much more suited to road hauling. Only reason I never bought one is they are not so good off road (in fields and wood yards). I would think a single axle tractor and a 36-40' tilt deck trailer would be ideal for your situation.

With 7 batwing/tractors to move on occasion, I bought a lease return Kenworth road tractor and a Loadcraft 40' lowboy. Overkill is a lot safer than "underkill".

Farmwithjunk's suggestion is the best and there are several road tractor/low boy combinations around here for sale with very attractive prices. I have a class A CDL with airbrakes. Problem is, I don't want to park another big truck on my property. I just don't have the room.
A smaller rig would be nicer for leaving the jobsite to get food, parts, etc and more practical for everyday useage for other work. I might throw a snowplow on this truck, too. I can always use my IH4800 dumptruck & tag for anything really heavy.

I'm having a hard time figuring how anything noticeably shorter than a SA daycab road horse with a 35-40' trailer is going to do the job for you. Lighter, maybe, shorter, I don't see it.
