I never ran my 3016 Hst without loaded tires as I loaded them the night I got it. But even with the rear tires loaded the loader will pick back tires off the ground if you try to overdo it. Think it would be a safety concern if you plan on working tractor to its capabilities if you didn't have them loaded. JMO

I don't think that you can work the loader to it's maximum capabilities without loaded tires and some weight on the 3pt hitch.

Took delivery on Saturday, got some seat time on Sunday. I've got a lot of technique to learn for sure.

Nice looking rig!

Looks like it came just in time to do some work!

Looks like you bought just about everything to start with. Now you need just 2 more things. First a sun shade to protect yourself since you will be spending so much time on the new machine. :cool2: 2ND, a top and tilt set for your 3pt so that you have full adjustment of your box blade from the comfort of the seat. ;)

You bought a very nice tractor and you will get the hang of operating it with a few more hours of seat time.

Good luck with your new machine.

Nice looking rig. One word of caution. I noticed the hooks on your bucket are located close to the edges. This could cause problems when lifting a heavy object or when trying to lift an immovable object (tree, fence post). Be safe and enjoy.

Yup. Filled in some trenches which took about 10 times longer than it would if I knew what I was doing. But that's how you learn I guess.

Thanks for catching that. I told them to put them aligned with the arms. I'll have to look to see how off they are.

As for the shade, they wanted $500 for a Mahindra brand, and I had already exceeded my budget. So I'm looking for a lower cost alternative - any ideas?

Regarding the tilt set, hadn't read about that, how does that work and do you know an approx cost?

Thanks.

Can't really help out with a canopy other than I would not get an ABS (plastic) one. Either fiberglass or metal is what I recommend. I have fiberglass canopies and they were about $400 several years ago. You could go with a canvas unit for less than $100 just to get by.

As far as a hydraulic tilt cylinder, the unit itself for your tractor is $250 and then you have a hose kit that is another $40. Did you get the rear remote? If not then you would need to get that. :( I believe that only 1 OEM factory remote is available,:( and it would be more $$$ than if you were to go with a couple of after market remotes. I believe that for a complete set of 2-3 after market remotes and both top and tilt cylinders with all the hoses would run you in the neighborhood 0f $1600. I know that that is what one of the dealers that I sell to charges for the setup on the 3016 & 3616s that he sells.

The "TnT" setup allows you to adjust your box blade with hydraulics from the comfort of your seat. Most people will end up with a much nicer grading job because they can easily make adjustments vs getting off of the tractor to make them and getting off and on gets old real fast.

Once you recover financially from your purchase, keep the "TnT" setup in mind. Well worth it if you do much if any grading. I don't think that you will find many people that were sorry that they had bought them and many that would not be without them once they had used them. ;)
