I've got a MF 285 that the tie-rod end has separated & come off of the ball. Can a new tie-rod end be welded to the cylinder or do I have to replace the cylinder?

Thanks

Most are threaded on that I've seen to allow an easy replacement!

Thanks Art...just went out & looked at it & the tie-rod end is welded (I believe originally) onto the back of the cylinder.....the tie-rod end on the piston shaft appears to be part of the shaft.

To clarify, this is a tie-rod end on one of the 2 hydraulic cylinders and not that mount to the tie-rods...

If the cylinder still works correctly, why not see if it can simply be rewelded? I've never welded on an assembled cylinder and not sure it can be done, but would ask that question before I priced a new cylinder.
