Looking at getting this middle buster to dig up the field of potatoes I planted. Looking at it on the Tractor Supply site, it looks like it is configured for a QuickHitch, but I don't have one. Would I have to buy anything else to get this to hook up to the 3 point on my 2520?

You are confused, as this is a three point hitch middle-buster. All you need are the hitch pins and a top-link for attachment.

Looks like it would just hook right up to a 3pt..............I know you need an excuse to buy a quick hitch.......go ahead and get yourself one.

Thanks,
What threw me off is the pins where it attaches to the draft arms. The only other attachments I've used all have removable sleeves for this. Glad I don't need to buy too much else.

Just pick-up mine at JD on Friday. Have no idea how well it works for digging up potatoes. I guess I will find out this week. :licking: Has anyone out there ever try this with the middle buster?

Well this is nice to hear. I had a similar set-up for making my rows but it would not have work for digging. I kind of bought this without really doing any major research, so am kind of crossing my fingers. Sorry OP, don't want to steal your tread, but thought you might be interested also.

I'll be interested in how the middle buster works for digging potatoes. Without a hydraulic top arm, I'd think it would be difficult to get the shovel down deep enough. Your experience will tell us a lot.

I'll try to take pictures and will let you know how it works. :)

Thats why down here in Mississippi we call them potatoe plows. Been using a middle buster for years do did potatoes. I took a old mule drawn buster and made a 3 pt hitch on it and it works fine behind my tractor.
