Attaching Middle Buster without QuickHitch?

The Middle Buster is a great, simple attachment. I am surprised they are not a bit more common. You can really heave up some earth with this. I have never used it for potatoes but I have use it to break sod and even dig a trench to refill with whatever I wanted to take the place of our terribly hard clay. And I did this all with the little 2305. I found that when you dial in just the right angle with the top link, you have enormous traction.

good luck

I'll be interested in how the middle buster works for digging potatoes. Without a hydraulic top arm, I'd think it would be difficult to get the shovel down deep enough. Your experience will tell us a lot.

I dig 500-800 lbs of potatoes every year with a middle buster. Works like a charm. Best way I know for the small time potato farmer to dig them.

This is all very encouraging. Can't wait to try mine out. Merci! :)

Nifty! It looks like the PM10 is built for a limited 3PH tractor!

I have the Frontier PS10 subsoiler for my 2305. Raise the 3PH as high as you want and fool with the center link as much as you want. The limited height of the 3PH on the 2305 just is not high enough to travel with the PS10 attached. Still don't regret my 2305 decision over the 2320 because I need the lower center of gravity to mow hills.

I carry it in the FEL bucket and attach it at the work site.

If you think the double wings on the PM10 are good for loosening hard pack you should see the narrower PS10 work! Not sure what it would do to potatos though.

Definitely wouldn't work for potatos, but when I bought the PM10, I kind of wonder if I couldn't convert it to a subsoiler ''if the holes were the same'' by changing the double wing for the slope point of the subsoiler. Wouldn't go as deep but would probably do the job if I ever needed it.

Gave it a try. My first reaction was ''wow''. This thing works better than I expected. Did find a few slice potatoes which broke my heart, but for some reason the broken heart hurts less than the broken back. :) All in all, I would definitely recommend it.

Awesome. Easy on the back, especially when just driving the tractor and taking pics is the job. :D :D I see you had the back-breaking part covered well. ;)

Thanks for posting. I wanted to see how well it worked on potatoes.

Nice. We just quickly wash the cut ones and eat them or turn them into potatoes wedges for the freezer. Glad you got 'em dug.

Well, you need the potato picker and the operator, and since I have more seniority.....:D
