I'm convinced that there has got to be a way to adjust the seat height downwards/tilt it forward so that my feet can be flat on the floor when sitting down.

I've been waiting for the manual but it is not here yet.

Anyone know?

Not sure which particular seat you have, but I'm gonna guess it's the "FLOAT-RIDE" model. There should be a knob behind the seat that pre-loads the spring in the suspension. Back it off and the seat will drop down with driver weight. Also, the seat should be mounted with 2 threaded studs that go through slotted holes. (where seat frame meets tranny housing) Those slots can me cut out so the seat can move farther forward if there isn't enough adjustment in the original slots.

There is a lever back there that seems to be meant to load or unload the spring. Unfortunately it was all jammed up and rusted I took it off and tried to be a little too pursuasive with a pipe wrench and broke off a piece of the shaft that the lever is meant to turn.

Regardless of whether I turn the shaft all the way to the left or right it makes no real difference to the seat. No idea really. Maybe it may be the strut that holds the front of the seat up that is jammed. I think I will probably have to take this seat off and see what can be unjammed.

Any chance of posting a picture of your current seat? Sounds unfamiliar.....Like maybe an aftermarket seat...?????

There are some good aftermarket seats available also, not real expensive.

Will do. Can you point me to where I might purchase an aftermarket seat for it?

For starters, TSC has some. I've bought a couple from Valu-Bilt. Any GOOD dealership should have access to them. You might start with some of the dealers who advertise and/or are members on here.

Surprisingly enough, seats are one part of a tractor that takes an incredible beating. I guess they get more "overloading" than other components (like hydraulic systems, 3-point lifts, ect...)

Here is one that I have found online.

Another that also looks decent.

Best deal so far

And here is the one from my local TSC store. Does not say it is compatible with any particular model but looks like it might be.
