0.00 means there is no resistance(good!). It will say OL or some other high number if the leads are not touching anything or the circuit you are testing is "open"

What are you reading with the switch in the "off" position?
Disconnect the wire from the coil and do the test again, you could have a short in the coil and are reading thru it instead of the wiring.

I believe when it was off it was reading some numbers. I have the saw back together now, I will have to try that tomorrow. I am hoping they can test the coil at the dealer tomorrow... At this point I think I will order a new coil just to rule that out... What is the difference with an OEM coil and the aftermarket from Baileys? The OEM IS ATONE $44.00 The one at Baileys was on sale for $60...

Dang! I noticed you didn't ask for my address....:( Do you notice a big difference with the domed piston and porting? Have you ever seen or used a 361 with the same set up? Just curios??

Yes I ran a 361 with same set up, that I felt was unstoppable in the cut IMHO.

I am getting away from domed pistons though. If you burn one up you have to pay a machinist to cut you another on the lathe or do one on a drill press with end mill.
I'm going all stock flat top piston after this domed 346 and 026 are needing work down the road or sold.
I already sold a domed 066, 084, 7900, 372 with 74.66cc topend, 357xp, partner 5000 x 2 all with pop up pistons.
If your looking for every bit of power it can be worth it for the fastest cut. But the cost is high unless you are doing it and if you score ruin a pop up you cant just throw another stock piston in it and keep cutting. JMHO. Been there.

Hey I had another question??? I removed the spark screen from the muffler the other day and it was clean. I was just wanting to know if I need to leave it in the saw would there be any difference not having it in the muffler etc.?

Removing the spark screen is something I do if you dont have to cut in required areas.
Also take a husky 288 deflector or a stihl deflector off something like a 180 and make you a hole on left side of muffler and retune carb. That will let the 361 run like they suppose to IMO, stock the muffler wont let it breath and it is choked down. Then you will need to readjust carb richer. ;)

Only do that after they fix it.

Yeah I heard them fire it up the day I went to pick it up, getting it started was only a small part of the problem... It just seems like it was pinging while running and then it slowly dies off and quits... That's why I was thinking it was the coil, when it starts to warm up it quits.... The new saw (192) I just don't know what to say, it wasn't cheap and I would think I could get more than 6-7 uses out of it..... I actually ripped the skin off my hand from pulling it so many times!!! Im about to get rid of all of them and go to tractor supply and buy a store brand husky....[/QUOTE]

Just remember that the Husky will urinate in the saw case everytime you use it and put it away......:D

I'll have to cross that bridge with ya later!! I just hope to have the saw running soon...

I dont think I ever read what you were running on the 361? Bar length and chain type?

I am just running the stock 20" bar and chain from stihl. I am open for suggestions??? I really don't know much about the different chains / bars, etc.

20" and RSC 3/8 or 325? Either would be good, but the 361 can handle the 3/8. I would go 050 but stihl likes to sale their 063 to people.

I was running the 325 RSC 20" buried on the 026 in hardwoods the other day. I went to 325 so I could run the smaller 7T 325 rim to give it more low end grunt. It was :)

I'm guessing that the 325 is a 5/16? Not sure what the 050 is? I would like to have something that would cut faster... I have about 8-10 chains for the saw now.
