Kioti/Bobcat 'deals'

My recollection for Kioti: base 40hp DK with FEL about 20-21K if I recall correctly. All HST. Of course the various deals they have will influence those prices. I haven't checked prices for a while so those may be out of date but the relative differences are probably right.

That would be nice if still current It does seem that the prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year or two (from other posts a year or so back from people looking at Kioti tractors).

A Bobcat CT335 (from the web site) with no loader, adding a mid PTO and one rear valve comes to nearly $23K. However, if they really will 'give' you a $6,400 (MSRP) 72" front snow blower 'free' and Kioti won't, that could make a huge difference. That is 2 grand more than the 'pin on' loader.

The Bob-tach loader is an additional $400. Does that make it faster/easier to put the loader on but then makes using non Bob-tach accessories impossible?

The bobtach is just Bobcats name of their standard quick tach system. The same buckets,forks,4in1 bucket...etc... can be used through out the industry.


I just sold a CT440 TLB package to a person on here and yes he did get the free 72" front mount snowblower! Cha-Ching.

How do you run a PTO powered chipper etc? Or attach a BH? Does the switch only shut off when not in neutral?

You must put the tractor in neutral and set the parking brake before getting off the machine.
You do not need to jam the brake on, just enough to touch the switch.

That is really not that far off my guestimate if you consider the freebies and dealer discounts. I bought a DK40se with FEL for about 18K four years ago. That was not the list price. Most good dealers expect to discount 10% or maybe a bit more. I know there have been multiple price increases since I bought but I'd be a little surprised if you couldn't get out the door for low twenties today. Don't know how to calculate the snowblower value but presume they have some other option as there are not many Texans wanting to move snow.

Give Rick Wallace a call. He was my Kioti dealer and is great to work with. Besides, he loves long drives in his truck-trailer rig delivering tractors. I'm sure he'd be happy to come up to VT.

Given the property sale is mired in an environmental clean-up at the moment, no immediate tractor purchases happening. It is a relatively small leak from a now removed underground fuel oil tank but you know the state govt isn't always speedy and they are suffering the lack of offices and a lot of spilled oil from the Irene floods to boot.

I presume it is kosher to use a local dealer for service as long as you give them a legitimate opportunity to make the initial sale?

Regarding service, two points. 1) You can do just about anything other than cracking the tractor by yourself. My tractor hasn't been off the island in four years. I've had a few issues that required diagnosis (loose FEL mount bolts, disconnected wiring from brush, leaky fuel bowl, seat belt malfunction) and every one of them was handled by making a phone call to Wallace Tractor. They would talk me through the diagnosis (with the wiring for example) and otherwise they would just figure out what parts I needed and the UPS guy would bring them in a couple of days. I do all fluid/filter and routine maintenance checks myself. I think you will find that most people on this forum do that anyway after they get comfortable with the tractor. Really no biggie. MUCH easier to work on than a car. 2) Second point regarding service: local dealers who would have loved to sell you the tractor are almost always perfectly happy to make money off you or Kioti post sale for service or warranty repairs. I'm also pretty sure that for non warranty stuff that the sister tractor dealer would be happy to perform maintenance and repairs Kioti/Bobcat both. They truly are the same tractor so there really is no reason for the other type of dealer to refuse your business. Ask Rick if he still services Kioti's. He still owns one!

Rick and helper drove 300 miles to deliver mine. The ferry schedule necessitated an overnight stay on the island so they stayed with me. Great house guests. I'm sure he would rather drive 50 miles than 300 but he is a smart businessman and in this economy I don't see him turning down a sale just because he would need to spend a little extra time on the highway. Especially during foliage season. Too bad you are not ready to purchase now but who knows, maybe Rick is a wild man snowboarder.:laughing:

This may be Vermont but it is WAY too early for snowboarding. The big resorts TRY to open in early Nov mostly machine made snow and only if it is cold enough. At the latest they need to be open for Thanksgiving weekend.

My wife grew up in Stowe. The early days were pre man made snow. All the resort owners went on vacation between foliage (basically done mid Oct in the mountains) and Thanksgiving. No leaves on the trees, no snow on the ground. It is the sixth season. In order starting in December/January: Winter, Spring, Mud, Summer, Fall, Brown. Mud and Brown are not the most favorite times of the year.

Are you supposed to put the tractor in neutral for a safety reason or is there supposed to be an interlock? I have not been putting tractor in neutral and have been running the backhoe with just the emergency brake set.

I was exactly where you are just back in August 2011. I joined TBN on 10 August 2011, an I had my tractor pretty close to the end of august.

My situation is slightly different beause I had my land and knew I was going to need some kind of tractor. I visited the Bobcat dealer one day and discovered the 0% for 72 months was ending Aug 31 and that fired me up.
I have a couple threads dealing with my decision process and the education TBN Gave me. Here are just 2.

I got down to 3 tractors, CT50, DK50se, and Mahindra's 50HP 4WD HST (forgot the model, 5035 I think).

I decided on a config I wanted, [50hp, HST, 2 rear remotes, filled tires] and got both Kioti and Bobcat to give me oficial quotes. (I did not find the Mahindra dealer soon enough, but he came in between the 2, but I think they might not come SSQA stock so...).

I picked the Kioti because the FEL was slightly better than the one Bobcat uses, the Dealer was MUCH better (mostly on the cost of options like 2nd rear remote, filling tires, etc).

My advice to you is to look at the 40, 45, and 50 hp HST tractors from Kioti, Bobcat (the ONLY difference is FEL, color, and Dealer). If you can add in Mahindra and Kubota to your selection process.

Base your final decision on what attachments you MUST have, want to have, and might get. Basically answer "What will I DO with the Tractor" and get the tractor that will DO those things best.

A tractor is the coolest power tool in the universe, and the attachments are like the bits you put in it.

After I picked the tractor and dealer, then I started picking the attachments and I bundled them all into one deal, one loan.

Now I just need time without pouring rain so I can get more seat time...
