I found this trailer for sale, but I am wondering if it would be a good fit for my 2520 to pull around. I am wanting a small utility type trailer for hauling wood debris and whatever else around my 12 acres. I would also like one that could be good for hay rides. This one seems to be about what I need, but I have never bought or used a trailer before. It even tilts. Would the tongue be too "tall" for the draw bar on the 2520? It takes a 1 7/8 ball, which he said he could give me because that trailer was the only thing he pulled with a 1 7/8. Thanks! See the link and let me know what you think:

If you don't want it, I'll take it! Of course getting it up here to New Brunswick might be a problem.

I use a small utility trailer (4.5 X 6) behind my 2520, 1 7/8 ball as well, mainly to haul wood/brush around. Height isn't an issue. I simply put the ball in the last hole in drawbar - a bit loose but hasn't been an issue.

Thanks for the reply! I just want to be sure I am getting something that will work with the 2520. He said he would take $350 for it... seems like a good deal. I still need to go see it in person though.

Make sure you check when your trailer is fully loaded you and are within the drawbar tongue weight capacity (562 lbs). When hauling people on your hay rides check that the tilt mechanism is lockable and can withstand the forces of moving people. You dont want the trailer to unexpectantly tilt when loaded with guests.

Good points... let me make sure I am understanding clearly... the (downward force) weight limit on the tractor's draw bar is 562 lbs? You're not saying that 562 lbs is the max it can pull. You are talking downward force at the point of the hitch of the trailer tongue to the tractor draw bar correct? Thanks.

Correct. There is no gross weight limit specified.

I have a 4x8 I use with my 2320. It works fine with my regular drawbar but it works even better with my 3 point drawbar because it moves it a little farther from the tractor and lets me fine tune the level of the trailer.

At $350 it looks like a really good deal.

I think you'll like that trailer a lot!! I definitely like the dump aspect (my little trailer doesn't have that feature and I wish it did).
Looks to be roadable too...is that correct?

BTW, the 562 pounds tongue weight refers to the vertical weight, not what you can tow. Just make sure you don't tow too much weight that your brakes can't handle it...especially during those hayrides. And that hitch doesn't come off the ball (mine did once when I loaded too much too far aft).

Good thought on the brakes. Yes it is roadable. Has brand new lights and tires and the guy said he had used it to haul 2 atvs side by side before. It's a light duty trailer however, an atv or riding mower would be about the max I would put in it to take on the roads. Are safety chains possible/necessary to use when pulling it with my 2520?
