Will A Woods BX-80 Backhoe work with a Mahindra 2816 HST?

Hi All,

I own a 2816 and have put about 125 hours on in Northern IL. Mostly clearing pasture and rebuilding a home that has sat vacant for 8 years. I have been renting a backhoe every time I needed one and it is getting pretty expensive so I want to buy an attachment for my tractor. I have looked at the Mahindra unit and also at the Woods BX-80. It looks like the BX-80 is a better unit. I found a link in the forums showing the sub frames offered by Woods but the 2816 was not listed. Does anyone know if there is a sub frame available that would allow me to use the BX-80? I've left a message with my dealer but, understandably, he is pretty busy right now.

I assume you have a 2816 and not an 1816 like your post title says.
I think a Woods BH-80 is too big for a 2816. Need something a little smaller like the BH-70 or BH 6000.

Woods lists a sub frame for a 2615 and 3015 when using a BH6500 or BH7500 BH. The 2816 has the same frame and body as the 2615 which is what I have. The cab on mine is made for a 2816 and is an exact fit.

You will need a subframe #1011488 that will also come with the hydraulic hose kit for your tractor. I can supply you the whole set up for around 7k if interested.

No and thats one of the reasons why Woods is starting to hurt for business in the northeast region.
This time of year is what manufactures call preseason. The reps come around a write orders for spring of next year. Usually I would be placing an order for aprox 35 backhoes. Not this year. Woods has failed to keep up with the changing models. Very frustrating. That and the fact that their prices are getting a bit redicilous!

The Mahindra "Bradco" backhoe for the 4035 is hard to beat as far as quality goes.

Are there any tractor warranty issues if you use another brank BH than a Mahindra...?? Seems to me I heard somewhere, back when, that you could void your tractor warranty if you used other than a Bradco/Mahindra///BobG in VA

Yes there are issues, and of course there are laws in place that prohibit a manufacturer from denying coverage unless the brand x backhoe actually contributed to the problem. But you can easily get into a "not my fault" situation with an aftermarket backhoe.

Mahindra requires that Bradco/KMW/AmeriQuip test the snot out of the backhoes or loadesr, specifically the mounting system, so they can minimize any problems down the road. If you stick a brand x backhoe on a Mahindra and it busts something, it would hardly be Mahindra's responsibility and therefore the wording in the warranty agreement. I think companies like Woods do a lot of testing and are probably safe, but you can't beat the OEM for testing. Not only is Mahindra involved, but so is Mitsubishi, for example, on the 16 series. I suspect Woods would not have such direct input from Mitsubishi. That being said, I am a fan of the Woods product if you don't go OEM.

What are the chances of buying a Bradco sub frame kit, mounting it on my 4035 and then adapting it over at the backhoe end to my Woods? I really would like to use my backhoe. It has been sitting for about 6 months now.
