Ford 1900
I have listed tractor, and its fill plug (on top of trans) dipstick is missing. On left side of trans half way down is a plug. Im assuming I can fill trans until fluid starts to run out removed side plug. Looking for confirmation on my assumption. Fluid is for manual trans and hydraulic system

The oil fill on top has a dip stick that is 8 inches long. The full mark is at 1 inch from the bottom. That leaves about 7 inches of tranny with no oil. The level move a bit depending on 3PH and loader position.

Do you have the plug that the dipstick was attched to originaly? The next question, what happened to the dipstick? Did it fall into the resivoir and get chewed to pieces? Look into the hole with a flashlight to see if you can see the end of it anywhere. Maybe it was removed because it was loose and is not inside the transmission. How long have you owned this 1900? Next, the process of adding transmission fluid does not require taking out a side plug to use as a fill level. The dipstick had a (full/low) mark on it.

Got tractor used in August. Fill plug ontop of trans has a hole in the center which looks like dipstick rod may have been there at on time, but is no longer there. Lift arms seeping fluid, and would like to top off fluid. Again there is a plug like you would see in a rear differential, the kind you would pull out and fill till fluid started running out. Its about half way up from bottom

Go to this old thread and look at picture of dipstick. It looks like the fill level is 7 inches down from the top of the case hole. If you measure down the hole and fill fluid to that level the fluid should be ok. However read the rest of the thread about finding the dipstick in the bottom of the case. Ford 1700 and Ford 1900 are similar transmissions.

Didn't see dipstick but made my own as in link. Link was describing for a model different from my 1900. Dipstick seamed long but indicated proper lever as it is close to bottom.
