THE JOYS OF GOOD AC

This CAT we have has been a good solid machine, but less than enjoyable with poorly engineered ac design. After removing the condenser 5 or more times to clean it and having to recharge the ac system each time our troubles for the moment seem to be over. We had a roof mount condenser with electric fans fabed up and man does she blow and stay cold. 15 hrs on it now and the condenser is still clean, and even if it was dirty we can clean it with little or no effort.

On another note we put over the tire tracks on and besides not being able to cross curbs and sidewalks it has been a huge improvement.

We had to do the same on one of our tractors. You would think that as much as these tractors cost now they could at least get the ac right.

I understand that with these skid steers clogged coolers are a fact of life given the compact way in which they must be designed. However it seems to me it would be a good idea to make them accessible for cleaning. The new Deere 333d has a condenser that hinges out for cleaning. If it only had enough hydraulic power I would buy it. I looked at trading to a track machine like the Deere, but for less than $2500 I fixed most of the problems.

AGGIE00, WHAT TYPE OR BRAND OF A/C DID YOU GO WITH? i AGREE WITH YOU ON THE AIR, AS WELL AS THE STEEL TRACKS OVER TIRES. WE RENTED A FRIENDS MULCHER TO HELP AND HE HAD A VTS TRACK SYSTEM AND WHEN WE FINISHED, HE WENT TO TIRES WITH STEEL TRACKS. NOW HE IS LOOKING FOR A MAGNUM HEAD.

Arctic air or something like that, but we only replaced the condenser which took care of the problem
