How do I tension a BX2750 reduction drive chain ?

The sprockets were replaced, and I have no manual.

Hola Larry,


If the open bearings supporting the sprockets do not have
slots to allow them to be moved to take up the slack you
will have to replace the chain-which is something you should
really do anyway with new sprockets.

If you have the old roller chain back on the new sprockets; WHOOPSIE,
you should go your dealer and buy a length of new chain as I am sure
you have no use for a 10 foot box of chain otherwise.

You need to take the old chain with you to make sure that when they count
the number of chain pitches on the old chain the new chain is the proper length. Try to get cotter keyed chain if possible as it will be easy to splice if the need for a repair is required.

Ditto with Leon, new sprockets mean new chain, no question.

If you already have new chain and there is no 'slots' to adjust with your idler, get it as close as you can.

Depending on your chain source, half links should be available.

Thanks, I guess I'll replace the chain.
Now I guess I better find out about chains !!!
