I'm headed to see a Trans Mule and just wondered if I can squeeze it in the back of a 3/4 ton Chevy Pickup w/ 8" fleetside bed. The mule is listed at 57.5" wide while the truck bed measures 59". Has anyone done it???

Also, this is a one time deal.

That leaves you 3/4" on each side, and that's if the Mule's listed width is dead on....Don't think I'd try that one...If one tire gives more than the others, you just bought a bed rail or worse...Plus the travel sway and climbing over the fenderwells when loading it..Just my 2cents.

If your truck is equipped to pull a trailer, have you considered possibly asking a friend or a neighbor to borrow theirs? Or perhaps rent a trailer with the appropriate dimensions for a day. If you get the Mule for a decent price, the rental price shouldn't be a deterrent in relation to the possible good deal on your purchase. Good Luck.:):tractor:

Well, at this point I have pulled my 16' trailer out and aired up the tires and worked on the lights. I'm planning on using it which I know is big enough.

I wasn't aware that you had a trailer, because that fact was not mentioned in the initial thread. It seems as if you have covered all the bases. Sincerely hope that you are successful in your endeavor. Good Luck. I don't own one, but I have used my neighbor's Mule and they are very handy for chores or tasks, plus they are a lot of fun to use in the woods and off road.

I wouldn't think a mule would fit in an 8 inch bed....where the heck did you get a truck that small? Please be careful on the highways...Im afraid the VW bugs will blow you off the road...:)

Craned in and out of your truck bed you might escape with just a few dings but I would be petrified of the drive up and down the ramp!

Real happy with the mule. Drove down and had it to myself at the sellers place for about 45 minutes. Easy to load on the trailer and no problems with the trip. These 4 person mules are hard to find used in this area so I finally made a 200 mile trip each way to get a clean one. Once there I tried everything out and it all worked properly. The engine oil was champagne in color and cranked up quick, ran properly. No dings or dents and everything worked as it should. It is an 07 realtree camo gas Trans Mule with 260hrs. I paid $6800 for it for those shopping prices.

Here a a couple of mods that I did to my mule:
Warn winch, windshield, rear view mirror, top and bedliner. The last photo is of the two rubber foot pads cut from an old truck bed mat and glued in place with Lexol on top of the inner wheel wells.
Have fun-the Mule is one tough machine.
