Rifel Sheath Anyone?

I keep a shotgun for water moccasins. It is a single barrel 12ga that is sawed off barrel and handle.

I hope you have an AOW or SBS stamp. If not, you may want to...ah..."amend" your post...

I would just be careful what I admitted to in an open forum, I'm not trying to come off obnoxiously. I bet that's a heck of a snake gun.

I think it could be sawed off to 18 1/2 " and still be legal??

Ernie, federal law says 18" is the minimum barrel length for a shotgun, but it also has to be over 26" overall. My 870 with an 18" barrel would be legal with a pistol grip, but just barely. An 18" barrel break-action shotgun probably won't. (My little Stevens 20 gauge wouldn't be legal with that configuration, at least.)

I didn't mean to drag things off-topic, but "sawed-off" often implies below 18", but even if he has a legal barrel length, he may still have a weapon that requires a tax stamp.

It is not my intent to steps on anyone's toes. One thing that I have discovered in regards to TBN forums is that every member has each other's best interest and concern in focus. In regards to the barrel length, one only has to think back in relation to the "Ruby Ridge" incident.

but ? on the other hand.. my dad carries an old stevens 16ga single shot , for squirrels.. lol.

he'll shoot a few squirrels for supper when hes on his tractor down in the woods.
