jgheck,

I sent you email.

Hi JJ,

I sent you an email back. I was wondering if there is any Kubota repair manuals that can be downloaded? I do not have a BX23 repair manual, but will be getting one. I am in the process of taking the fenders, gas tank, rops, seat, etc... off to get to the hydraulic piston. I understand it is under the gas tank. I hope to have that off in the next hour. Does anyone have a picture from the manual of the piston for the 3pt hitch. I believe that is where the problem now exists. I am not sure either if there is a separate relief valve for the 3pt hitch as well. I understand that some tractors have a separate relief valve for the 3pt hitch. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks to all that have replied so far. I will post the solution to this problem when it is solved.

Jim

If the only hyd you have is the 3pt, and the pump, then there is a relief valve on the 3pt. The BH would have it's own relief valve.

I believe I would take a pressure reading on the 3pt valve before tearing into it. If you have a gage, install it just after the pump. Put a heavy load on the 3pt and raise it up until the relief goes, and read the pressure, and then move the lever to neutral and read the pressure again.

Things that can go wrong with the 3pt, are relief valve sticking, 3pt valve leaking, 3pt safety valve leaking, piston seals leaking.

The purpose of the descent knob is to let the fluid out of the 3pt cyl at a certain rate, or block all fluid flowing out of the 3pt.

I don't know on the BX23 if there is only one relief valve or not. That is something that I called the dealer about and they were going to check with Kubota. The descent know is working ok I believe. I have taken everything off now and am able to see all the hydraulics. I need to get a manual though or have a picture to know what the various components are. I was hoping someone would have a picture of it. I will take some pictures and maybe someone could Identify the various parts. Thanks for your help.

Go here and download your parts manual. Also get the loader and backhoe at the same time because if you go back to load the loader you have to reask for the BX.

jgheck probably someone already mentioned this but disconnect and reconnect all the hoses, also go threw a full range of motion with you FEL. As you do the hose dance visibly inspect the end of each fitting.

Hi What i meant is the power steering leal sealer in bottle from car store. other was just use up/down to see if fluid would loosen. no comment if sealer is approved

I actually did use the tractor and FEL with the back blade, even though the blade would not stay up. I thought that maybe using it would help since it hadn't been used for a long time. No such luck. The lowering speed adjustment seems to be working. It must be in the piston I am thinking.
