Last weekend I purchased a F935 front mower. The old owner told me it would vapor lock and quit running. He said that all the fuel lines should be replaced as it has 1800+ hours. So after a few hours, I got all the fuel lines replaced. I then bled out all the air and tried to start it. I finally got it started and it ran for about 15 secs. before it died. I think since I got it apart, I will replace the pickup lines inside of the tanks. What else could be giving me fits? It has a diesel motor w/twin tanks.

These engines are very sensitive to air. Make sure it is well bled to the pump and then crack the injector lines and then crank it. Also make sure the electric pump is working. Also make sure the fuel selector valve is on one tank or the other and not half way.

It turns out both pickup tubes were rotted. Replaced and got it running again. for some unknown reason, it quit and blew the fuse that controls the starter. Replaced fuse and got running. Now I have another problem. The PTO doesn't want to stay engaged. Will have to work on this problem next.

Check hydraulic fluid level.
Is the PTO engage lever moving by itself ?
Tension adjustment on the PTO lever ?
