picked up the front mount blower last year. it was meant for a different tractor, so i had to change a gear in the gearbox to make it spin the correct direction. it's technically a 359 blower that i converted to a 59. also had to modify the front mount a little bit.

got the cab this year and decided to put the rear blower on just in case something doesn't go right w/ the front mount. have only run it unloaded, so who knows what might happen in the snow. only problem is...how am i going to turn the rear chute w/ the cab on? i have the same rear blower w/ hydraulic chute, but i swapped w/ my dad because i don't have my rear remotes installed yet.

Holy smokes! That's blower x2! You don't even have to turn that thing around!

Yeiks....your a push-me-pull-you.

The pushmi-pullyu (pronounced "push-me用ull-you") is a "gazelle-unicorn cross" which has two heads (one of each) at opposite ends of its body. When it tries to move, both heads try to go in opposite directions. Dr. Dolittle meets it on his voyage to Africa to save monkeys (See: The Story of Doctor Dolittle). In the 1967 film, the pushmi-pullyu was instead portrayed as a double-headed llama. The more recent Eddie Murphy film has a brief scene where it is walking in the background while Dr. Dolittle talks to the tiger in the cage. This is in keeping with the fact that Murphy's movie version was only loosely based on the books

the only 2 issues are, i can't turn the rear chute unless i figure a way to lift up the rear cab flap, and i was a little worried about having both blowers running at the same time. both won't be WORKING at the same time, so i'm hoping just have the rear running idle won't hog much power. guess i could unhook the pto shaft if it sohuld be a problem. i'm hoping the front one just kicks ***, then i'd have the box blade on the back for pushing/weight.

i had the front one off once since i got the mount finished, needed the forks. it drops off pretty fast, 8 bolts, unhook pto, back up, and it rolls right out....hooking it up was a bit more of a challenge. not horrible, but probably 45 mins to get everything to line up. hoping i won't have to remove it during the winter, but at least now i know it's doable...and probably get easier if i did it a few times.

I'm very interested on how that set up works out for you...

So, how's the 4300 doing for you now? I know you had some issues after you first bought it.

hey Roy, i'm surprised that you remember of my problems. that was awhile back, hadn't posted much lately. it's been pretty good. have an intermittent issue where it cranks but won't start, but then starts for no apparent reason, ie...i didn't really 'fix' anything, and it starts. i suspect the thermistor, but it's too erratic to pinpoint. in fact, hasn't happened in months now.

the intent on my setup is to use the front blower only. but since it is untested, i figured i had better put the 3pt on just in case. it's good for weight regardless.

Glad the 4300 is working better now!! Thought you had a bad one there for a bit...
I remember that tractor since, if you recall, I was going to look at it too...you just got there quicker.

Good to see you got the 359 converted. I have my blower to the front of the shed but haven't installed it yet. Could you rig up an electric actuator set up for the chute?

i forgot about that Roy...you have a better memory than me. all in all, i haven't had that much trouble w/ it, just a few things that irritated me as it seemed JD could have designed itbetter so they didn't occur in the 1st place. luckily, they were all relatively minor in the grand scheme of things.

Tim, yea, i could. but i have the exact same blower w/ hydraulic chute that i swapped w/ my dad because i don't have remotes to the rear yet. i plan to add them, but things keep coming up and i haven't gotten to it. altho, my dad likes the hydro chute, so i may never get it back!
