I applied toothpaste to the scratched areas today using a variable speed random orbit polisher. It removed the lighter scratches and diminished the deeper ones to a level that I can now live with. This forum always has people with such clever and cost effective fixes. Thanks again to Max Power and everyone who offered up ideas on removing the scratches. :D:D:D

That's also the hot setup for removing the haze that appears on lexan headlight covers on late model cars and trucks.

Besides, it leaves your headlights 'minty fresh'.

My Dad brought my Mother to our farm pond and drove his Cadillac - They walked down to the pond and we all went fishing and when we walked back to their car my Horse had eaten a big patch of his vinyl top...Not good...The horse, Charlie, was fine...did not even ever burp...:)

Had one do that to a 77 maverick I had. I was a little upset.

He left several scratches on the surface of the glass and I was wondering if anyone knows if theres a way to remove them?:mad:

A sharp blow from a Ball-peen hammer should make those scratches disappear.

I had the Mercury variant, a Vomit, ooops, I mean Comet. Nice car, weak suspension and downeight poor ball joints.

actually come to think of it mine was the Comet (Mercury) not the Maverick (Ford) they were the same car other than the tail lights and grill. Mine was that baby poop yellow/green but it had a 302 in it and would go. Caused me to walk for 30 day due to points on my licence (hey I was 18 and had a fast car I was going to go fast)

Doesn't that mean it was a "vomit Comet" ?
