I agree...I'd like to see pictures. Sounds like you understand why someone would want to build something like this, most people I've told say "why don't you just buy a tractor", or "don't you already have a tractor?" I had thought about several engine combinations...I have a running Chevy 4.3 V6, a Ford 2.3L 4cyl with 5spd in a 93 mustang, a Continental Red Seal flat head 4 cyl, a John Deere 303ci 6 cyl, a Chevy 350....and the Wisconsin. I kinda want to use the Ford 2.3L for another project, I chose the VH4D because it has a trans w/clutch already set up & ready. I bought a IH 715 combine this weekend that runs for $200, I'm debating using the cab & some misc. for this project or just turning the combine into something useful.

That's a great project! Build the way that seems logical to you, picture what you want the finished product to be, and one can build almost anything.

Subscribe to Farm Show Magazine for a year. It seems every issue has some new project that someone did with a combine.

I will work on the pictures.Rather slow when it comes to that. 2.3 Ford has always been a favorite of mine, little Continental would be slick also. Does not take a lot of horse power.

Trouble is getting it geared down enough and keeping the length down. Sure fun to think about though isn't it?

Regards, Roy

Here is a link to a pretty good shot of it pulling at the local fair, can see the driveline pretty clearly.

Found one more to share, tractor ride this fall, was miserable in the morning, cold and then rain, we turned back. However later that day warmed up nice so Rose and grabbed the dog and headed out. Like being able to bring Rose along.

Dog loves it also. 20110828_004 copy_web | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

One of the old favorite homemade tractor combos we to take an d Model T frame and stack two of the old 3 speed transmissions in line behind the 4 cyl. Using both reverses gave you a super granny forward gear.

Folks, I think we're dealing with someone a few steps up from the amateur hobbyist.

That tractor is amazing! If you hadn't told me it was homebuilt, it would have taken me a long time to figure out. I really like the look of those big rig wheels for the rears.
