What is the H2O Vaccum Minder? Is it monitoring the air filter or the water flow container below the turbo charger? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe you are talking about the filter minder on the air filter housing??? If so this guage measures restriction in the air intake. A dirty filter increases restriction thus pulling more vacuum on the guage. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response, CED. This is on 4630 John Deere. The gauge I'm referring to is in the cab at the top of the front windshield and says "Filter Minder H20 Vacuum".
I pushed the button in the bottom to reset it and it has already popped back to the top. I haven't had a chance to trace the tube from the gauge to the engine yet. I have cleaned the air filters recently. I understand the part about a restricted air filter, but don't understand the reference to "H2O vacuum".

I'm also wondering about the rectangular "tank" on the left side of the engine that is about 2.5 feet long X 8" tall X 3" thick, just below and attached to the turbocharger/intake manifold. The ether starter line goes into the top of it and there are water connections going into and out of the bottom of it. It's seamed and gasketed in the middle length wise. Is this a water cooled intercooler for the turbo intake air?

Any help is appreciated. I need to get a manual for this tractor.
Thanks.

I bet the "h20 vacuum" is is the value of restriction the guage is reading. Is is common for vacuum to be measured in inches of water or mercury.

Paul, the "tank" on the left side of the engine is a water cooled inner-cooler. It is standard equipment on the 4630. 4430's did not use one. The 4640 and 4840 were equipped with them also. I'm not sure about the vacuum minder. It could be a remote unit for the engine or some people used them on the cab filtration system in spraying operations. They were designed to prove the cab was pressurized to keep chemicals out.

Thanks for your help. If I learn anything new about it, I'll let you know. Got to get out and get to work. I got cattle and cavles to feed.

Thanks for your reply. Is there anything to service in the intercooler, of is it one of those "if it's not broke, don't fix it" things?

Inter-cooler requires no service - other than normal coolant changes and keeping additives in coolant to prevent cavitation.
