Super C Axle leaking

I have a 1952 Super C and the right axle leaks oil bad. How difficult a fix for this?

Before you go and start to change out the oil seals on the axle shaft (they are on the end where the grease zerk is..) you should check the gear oil level in the trans...if you have water at the bottom or its overfilled thats usually where you will see it come out..unscrew the check level plug on the right side of the trans at the back (about half way up) and see if oil comes rolling out..if it does you need to either drain the trans and refill with 5 gallons of 80-90w or let it get down to its level at the check plug..if this tractor has set outside for a while (ie. most of its life)..assume you have water in the bottom of the trans..BobG in VA

i agree.. overfull and it will likely pour out the pto shaft seal and the axles.

I've owned this tractor for about six years and it has never sat outside. It only leaks when I use it. Until last summer I raked hay and pulled the hay wagon with it most of the time. At first it only leaked a little, now a lot.

and the oil in the rear is at the correct level of the check plug?

Haven't checked that yet. Still recovering from hernia surgery last Thursday. A little slow (slower than normal) getting around.
