Before you go and start to change out the oil seals on the axle shaft (they are on the end where the grease zerk is..) you should check the gear oil level in the trans...if you have water at the bottom or its overfilled thats usually where you will see it come out..unscrew the check level plug on the right side of the trans at the back (about half way up) and see if oil comes rolling out..if it does you need to either drain the trans and refill with 5 gallons of 80-90w or let it get down to its level at the check plug..if this tractor has set outside for a while (ie. most of its life)..assume you have water in the bottom of the trans..BobG in VA
I've owned this tractor for about six years and it has never sat outside. It only leaks when I use it. Until last summer I raked hay and pulled the hay wagon with it most of the time. At first it only leaked a little, now a lot.
