Hi all just thought I'd let you no about the cuddly little koalas , in the states you have bears and you no they are nasty buggers but here in Australia people have this misconception that the koalas are cute and cuddly NO they scratch, bite and are full of fleas and if you hear them in the night fighting or mating you would swear you have the biggest razorback pig in the world lurking ready to attack you . We are fortunate enough to have a few on our property albeit a little to close to my bedroom but I guess that's nature . I hope I haven't bored you
Regards Leigh

Extreme drought, ferocious bushfires and urban development could make Koalas extinct within 7-10 years. Hopefully this will not happen, because once a species is extinct, it is lost forever. Hopefully there are enough breeding pairs housed in zoos, should worse comes to worse. The Koalas' future is obviously bleak. Good thread.

There's a thread you don't often see on TBN ! Very cool, but sorry they are so annoying . Like lots of things " good from far, far from good !"

This is a good thread ... we always see on TV those cute, irresitable, loveable little Koala Bears ... now we know the rest of the story.

I was surprised when I pet one with how rough and nasty it's hair was. Then I pet a kangaroo, and that was soft and smooth.

After taking many trips to Oz, I would rarely drive after dark for fear of hitting koalas, wombats, camels, and roos (rats with pouches). Most move around only at night, and can damage the rental cars. Can see your point as out here in the country where I live, wild cats can make a racket when they are up to the same thing. A yes right now they are up against of a lot of issues, between the bush fires and drought of the last few years. Quite a loss of habitat and hard times for that have survived.
